Summary: I have had this unit for 5 or 6 years and use it daily for movies and gaming. Its been reliable and sounds great for movies but seems a bit flat when listening to music from either PC/MP3, CD player or playing from Blu-Ray player, just seems a bit flat and dull compared to other receivers I have heard. But for what I paid for it, it works great. I use a Sony Blu-Ray player and send the DTS-HD/Dolby-TruHD through PCM and sounds good.
Summary: The left rear surround died after 2 years soon followed by both front speakers. Complicated setup, heat sensitive. Give it a pass. This is my third and last Sony product I will ever buy. I've got a '70s era Pioneer in the shop that runs forever, I think I'll give them a shot this time.
Perfect item is exactly as described. Outstanding transaction. Thanks.

Summary: The receiver looks very nice it delivers what is promised. Sounds great. There are three hdmi inputs and one output to the TV.The sound quality is very good. Good for a small room. It was a gift for my daughter's birthday. She is very happy with it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a starter system. If you have a larger room then you might consider a more powerful model. You get a good value for your dollar with this receiver.
Summary: I only thing that I like about it, that it works. There are some feature of this product that are not easy to get to. (Not as simple as pushing 1 button on the remote or on the Receiver.) That is only thing that I don't like about it. I bought it because of the price and I need a 6.1 receiver.
Summary: Mine lasted all of 2 years and now it has stopped working. Up until now, I have never had a receiver last less than 7 years, so I am a little peeved. I ordinarily have good luck with Sony products, so I am fairly disappointed that this receiver died so soon. And FYI, I keep all of my electronics on surge protectors...
Summary: I purchased the Sony DG710 after an older Sony kicked the bucket (to be fair, it was 10 years old). Everyone has their own setups, so here's mine: Wharfedale front channels Advent back channels AR subwoofer DVD player component audio DVR component audio PS2 optical audio Wii composite audio PC composite audio Unlike most, I prefer to run the video sources straight to the TV so they don't have to use this receiver as a passthrough.
