Summary: I Love Sony products. I have 3 Sony Receivers My oldest one is STR-K660p and it's still working in my bedroom. The second is STR-DE975 AV Receiver 5.1 in my living room. The third which I purchased to replace a Technics Receiver. This is the best AV Receiver I have every purchased. I like the fact that you can set-up your speaker system to give you the best sound for your room with the Optimizer Microphone. Please use this devise. the 7.1 channel Surround sound is great.
Summary: The auto-calibration feature is awesome, though this is the first receiver I have used it on, so can't speak to quality versus others. Used it to set-up 7.1 surround and when used with first person shooters the surround space was created accurately enough to be on par with turtle beach headphones. Used HDMI on two TVs and many devices with success, though it does not work for 3d when paired with the slim samsung 3d bluray player.
Sony is a great product that i would recommend to anyone.

Summary: The reason i bought this receiver is i love Sony stereo equipment. I have bought a lot of stereo stuff in my life and they stand up as one of the best. I have purchased a lot of things off ebay and have been happy with all my purchases. I am building a set of speakers for my home that i hope to hook up to this receiver. Hope this helps anyone interested in purchasing stereo equipment.
Summary: I picked this up about a year ago. Currently in search of a blu ray player soooo many choices! Saw these reviews had to put in my two cents! This is a great receiver once you figure out all it can do it took me hours of playing around with settings and pushing buttons to get the best sound.
Summary: The main reason why i choose this recever is that you can adjust the bass and treble of all the surround speakers. Has built in equalizer with 5 different presets. This was very important to me for voice quality on my center speaker. Im very happy with this receiver, with 3 hdmi inputs, it reduces the amount of wires drastically. As far as sound goes, it actually is much better than my harmon kardon and denon.
Summary: I just upgrade my old Sony TV to the Sony KDL46W3000 and need to also upgrade my A/V receiver. The Sony STRDG1100 was the best on the market for the money. The smooth integration, HDMI input and the capability to perform HDMI up conversion was all pluses. I did read and re-read the instructions for about a month, before I attempted to do the install and I had to go to the Sony store to ask a few questions. But it was worth it, I highly recommend the Sony STRDG1100.
Summary: I had an older sony receiver and needed the hdmi hook-ups. Looked at Harmon Kardon and Denon in same price range. Sony was best suited for needs. Audio is important, but I also appreciate the top quality video from Blu-Ray (PS3), 46" sony bravia, and HD player. Many other receivers down grade 1080p to 1080i. Also, some receivers with video repeater functions for video will not work with current cable provider's box.
Summary: after reading the reviews and specs i decided to make the plunge and pick up the str-dg1100. it's the least expensive sony reciever that can make the most of what the playstation 3 can put out via Blu-Ray at this time by being able to process uncompressed 8 channel LPCM over HDMI, 1080p @ 24Hz/fps video without a hitch, and self calibrate. the dg2100 is identical to the dg1100 but also does internal decoding of next gen Dolby True Hd and DTS HD Master audio.
