Summary: Easy to connect and use the various sound modes. User manual is available online. Stereo sound is excellent using analog RCA plug connections, and surround sound is even better using optical audio connection from DVD player and DISH receiver.
Summary: Had an older model Sony 5.1 receiver that had the DTS processor go bad, so it was time to upgrade. Similar to my old receiver but many improvements on the things I disliked about my old receiver. Easy selection of speaker setup, obvious menu navigation, and pleanty of inputs.
Summary: I expected better from Sony but this unit only accepts 8 ohm speakers. It was not listed as so and there is a 60HZ ac hum which shows poor filterig. Other features are fine but falls short in quality sound.
Summary: I purchased this receiver with Sony's SA-VE367T 7.1 speaker system. Circuit City offered a package deal and a great price. I had been wanting to upgrade to 7.1 but wasn't willing to spend thousands my first go-round. Biggest tip: BUY THE BEST QUALITY A/V CABLES YOU CAN AFFORD!!
Summary: This is my 3 Sony receiver and they have all worked flawlessly. This one replaces a lower rung Sony 5.1 receiver. This is my first in the silver color and it is stunning, with the front having a brushed aluminum look. It compliments all the other components that seem to have turned silver overnight.
Summary: This is a great unit for the price. The set up went fairly smoothly. I have to admit that I am not 100% sure that the "sound" is optimized to my listening area, but that is probably due to my own (in)abilities as an audio technician.
