Summary: This is a very good stereo. It's not hard to get used to all the functions once you've gone thru them a few times. Because this is an older model it doesn't have HMDI connections which is what most of the newer electronics request or require.
Summary: I loved this unit at first, then after about a month, most of the buttons on the front panel stopped working. The receiver always wanted to cycle through all the listening modes. I ended up pushing one of the listening mode buttons on the front panel in and jammed a small piece of paper in there to...
Summary: I bought this receiver about 10 years ago and have been very happy with it. For the most part of its life it has been used just as a 2 channel reciever. It has plenty of power, I hooked up a pair of JBL cf-120 speakers and also another set of boston acoustics hs 450.

Summary: We purchased this surround sound receiver new many years ago and have been pleased with its performance and it has provided many years of trouble free enjoyment. A few months ago however our STR-DE845 developed an issue where after it had been turned on for 10-15 minutes we would hear a relay click...
Summary: I bought this receiver in 2002, and for that time it was fine for the price, I think around $400. However, I recently bought a Yamaha RX-v661 for $500, and I can't believe how superior this unit is to the Sony.
Summary: I bought this receiver in 2001. It was hooked to an Infinity home theater speaker system, which has five small speaker and subwoofer. I only use <1/3 of the max volume at all the time. Just like many people commented here, it worked great... until last year.
Summary: This item has been thoroughly reviewed and the features have been well explained but I want to add one thing: Just like the Sony reciever I had before this one, the display begins to dim after about a year. Some of the LED's don't work at all now.
Summary: I bought this a few years ago as my first audio/video receiver. I'm glad I did, because it's been pretty intuitive as far as setup, and I've had no mechanical problems with it. It has a good sized transformer that will get hot after awhile. The remote is a little funny.
Summary: Picked this av receiver after reading numerous reports on audioreview.com. Very good entry level receiver for the home theater experience. I have had no problems with the product to date. Very happy with it. Used internet pricing and had Sears match it. Saved about $100.
Summary: It took me a while to get a perfect sound of my Bose Speakers. This is a Excellent Receiver with multiple digital (optical and coaxial) inputs. Excellent Sound Quality and Surround Distribution. I enjoy it completely
