Summary: The one I bought needed a little love but since I'm good with electronics It's working like a beauty. It's real powerful and sounds great with my Infinity Reference Series Speakers and Pioneer Home theater System.
Summary: I will preface this by saying that I am no tech guru or audio savant. However, I have owned a number of receivers (Technics) and I have never had the hassle that I have had with this particular Sony receiver. The HDMI cables do not function as designed and there are several forums on-line supporting what I am stating here. The sound quality is good, not exceptional, the subwoofer function is at best complicated and the subwoofer does not work under a number of settings.
Summary: * NOTE * HDMI pass-through ONLY. This receiver doesn't play HDMI audio. You will still need your Optical Audio imputs. You will need to pay considerably more for HDMI audio * NOTE * This receiver is billed as 6.1 AND 7.1 because... This receiver doesn't support a true 7.1 signal. You can turn any 5.1 into 7.1, if you want, but this is cheating. DTS ES and Dolby Digital EX are 6.1 engines.
Summary: I am a Sony fanatic so everything in Sony audio stuff i I love it. And particularly this product, it's served what I need. So, maybe this review is a subjective review, but it is what it is. Sony always make a very good or exellent products.
