Summary: The one I bought needed a little love but since I'm good with electronics It's working like a beauty. It's real powerful and sounds great with my Infinity Reference Series Speakers and Pioneer Home theater System.
Summary: I will preface this by saying that I am no tech guru or audio savant. However, I have owned a number of receivers (Technics) and I have never had the hassle that I have had with this particular Sony receiver. The HDMI cables do not function as designed and there are several forums on-line supporting what I am stating here. The sound quality is good, not exceptional, the subwoofer function is at best complicated and the subwoofer does not work under a number of settings.
Summary: Works great, have a simple surround hooked up with a 40" LCD HDTV and DVD player. I am not a stereophile but appreciate a good movie with surround and blasting a good tune. Has plenty of power for me (10 x 12 room - open to the next room). Even hooked it to a pair of outdoor speakers.
Great AV amp with 2 HDMI inputs and 1 out to HD TV

Summary: This unit makes it easy to hook up your HD DVD and HD DirectTV box to your new HD TV with the use of the HDMI cable to attain the best possible connection between them. The sound is just passed through and you can still feed a digital audio out from the TV or DVD player to the amp for sound. A super reasonable HDMI solution with plenty of power for a 5.1 surround speaker system like the Klipsh Quintet III ( with matching 10 or 12 in.
