Summary: The 700 watt thing is kind of a Joke, but at the price it has great features even if you never bother with it's (purportedly lame) network abilities. It definitely gets extra points for being so compact.
Summary: Well constructed, clean sounding unit. runs cool with class D amps ( about 25 deg F temp rise through unit) I'm running with 5.1 speakers, planning to go 7.1 to use the full capability. I didn't buy for the VuNow capability, but it works beautifully. The remote is complex, but you get used to it.
Summary: We searched long and hard for a receiver/amplifier that was narrow enough to fit in the AV cabinet we purchased at Ikea. This one fit the bill and on top of being the right size, it was very easy to hook up.
Summary: UPDATE: 7 Oct 2010 - If you use both the HDMI and COMPONENT output of the Sherwood to those inputs to your HDTV set, you can switch between those formats although you are using the same designation on the Sherwood.
