Summary: Pleased with the purchase. Sound quality is good, arrived in excellent shape. First one arrived DOA, return process was a little kludgy but eventually got a working unit. I like the dual zones, drives the speakers I bought very well (Leviton AEH50) and I especially like the smaller form factor.
Summary: The remote to the receiver did not work. The receivers A/V inputs did not work so I couldn't get sound from the TV. The front speak inputs would short one of the 2 speakers connected to them every 4 hours. The item is being sent back and exchanged.
Summary: The 700 watt thing is kind of a Joke, but at the price it has great features even if you never bother with it's (purportedly lame) network abilities. It definitely gets extra points for being so compact.
Summary: This is my third one, the other two failed for different reasons. I needed a shallow depth one and this was the only one available. It is a great unit when it works and I was very disappointed the other two failed. I called Sherwood and there doesn't seem to be a high failure rate.
Summary: If you want a basic 7.1 (or 5.1 in my case) receiver that fits in small places, this is a solid choice. Useless EQ settings aside (the usual Movie, Concert, etc settings that sound horrible), you can simply adjust the bass/treble and individual channel settings and get fairly clear, well-rounded...
Summary: Well constructed, clean sounding unit. runs cool with class D amps ( about 25 deg F temp rise through unit) I'm running with 5.1 speakers, planning to go 7.1 to use the full capability. I didn't buy for the VuNow capability, but it works beautifully. The remote is complex, but you get used to it.
