Summary: Great little amp for the price. Quite powerful however there is a slight hum, barely noticeable but it is there. Also the power off button on the very small remote does not turn the unit off, it just turns off the sound which leaves the very bright red power light and the blue light around the volume control still glowing, a little annoying but I can live with it. I have it connected to a TV and PC, the stereo sound is very good.
Summary: I ignored other complaints about the power ratings of these Pyle amplifiers and now, instead of a small outdoor deck amp, I have a huge desktop PC speaker amp. The reason I took a shot at the PCAU25A 2 X 40 was because I liked the small footprint, but there is no way this amp would be suitable for an outdoor environment.
Summary: When I got this, I was surprised first by the small size of the external laptop style power supply. Then I read the manual included and discovered that this unit is NOT 2x40 Watts, but is only 15 W RMS per channel. The totally INFLATED 40W is peak power, which it can probably get to for about tenth of a second, and that is with severe distortion. I replaced a failed (honest manufacturer) 25W/channel amp and this one is not even close.
