Worked OK until failing TWICE

RYAN C., Newegg
29 July 2015
  • Summary: I ordered this unit on 7/1/2012 and it work well for a little while. In the summer of 2014, two years later, it stopped working. When you would turn it on it would stay on for a second and then immediately turn back off.
  • Pros: Worked OK for a while.
  • Cons: Failed TWICE.

Buy another reciever.

mike b., Newegg
18 December 2014
  • Summary: While it does suppose AV features and HDMI switching, the interface is CLUNKY. The input switching is hit or miss, and sometimes does not even send signals to the tv. Today it seems the HDMI ports have just completely died. I tried everything.
  • Pros: Looks pretty, and has AV capabilities.
  • Cons: Everything

Amazon Customer, Amazon
5 December 2014
  • Summary: It worked good, even though sometimes I had to turn the receiver off and then back on again just to get it to pass a hdmi signal thru to the TV set, it was annoying at times but I lived with it. Then 14 months after purchasing it just it would not turn on. just two months out of warranty.

  • Pros: It comes with all the bells and whisles Sound is great
  • Cons: The transistors are a known factor in these amps to go bad. so it you buy one it will not last long before it becomes a paper weight. I wish i would have read all the reviews before i bought this receiver. Pioneer knows the problem but hasn't done anything to to resolve this issue... "SO YOU HAVE...

Refurbished Unit

Jason, Amazon
30 December 2013
  • Summary: I bought a refurbished unit which only lasted about 40 days (10 days after warranty). The unit powers on and then it shuts down after 3 - 5 seconds. While it was working, I enjoyed the unit but after some research I found that this is a common flaw with this model.

HDMI Passthrough failure.

J. Thomas, Amazon
15 December 2013
  • Summary: After 45 days the HDMI out no longer outputs a signal rendering the unit worthless. Of course, I can't exchange it with Amazon after 30 days so I guess I'll have to go through the manufacturer. This seems to be a known issue in audio forums. Buyer beware.

Horrible Picture

Grant S., Newegg
15 December 2013
  • Pros: Price, features
  • Cons: HDMI picture cuts in and out to the HDMI Monitor. Not a good product to run all HDMI's to one place and one out to the HDTV

too good to be true

Gary H., Newegg
6 December 2013
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: open box item. will not even power up. $30 to return item that probably did not work before newegg shipped the item. I have been buying newegg products for years, first bad experience. This item is not worth the gamble.

DOA, No customer support

Christopher T., Newegg
29 November 2013
  • Summary: I regret this purchase and can't wait to replace it with something else. Zero Eggs if I could rate it that low.
  • Pros: - Nothing whatsoever. Might make a decent boat anchor.
  • Cons: - DOA, no sound coming out of any speakers attached to it. HDMI video out works, but with no audio, what is the point? - 80s style GUI interface. Looks like your entertainment center is being controlled by a Commodore 64. - Try calling Pioneer customer support.... you'll always here the same "we ...
