Summary: I have been using one of these for 8-9 years, now. It has performed perfectly whithin my entertainment center during that time. It has plenty of inputs, both video and s-video as well as audio stereo to handle all my other electronics including my karaoke player.
Summary: This was one of my best Ebay Purchases. I was half expecting something to be wrong with it because I got it for only $50 but it works great so far and has been ideal for my home theater surround sound setup.
Summary: I am very disappointed in this receiver and Pioneer customer service. The receiver did not provide enough power to listen to both "a" and "b" speaker systems. I sent an e-mail to Pioneer only to get a standard reply "We will be in touch".
Summary: Since I purchased this receiver it's been in the shop more than in my home. It worked fine for a few months than it started 'overloading' as soon as we turned it on. What exactly is 'overloading' no one can tell me - the instruction manual doesn't even use that term.
Summary: The Heart Of An Excellent Home Theater System Is An A/V Receiver...Whether It's Simply Great Music You Want, Or The Explosive Sound Track Of An Intense Flick, A/V Receivers Have The Power & Processing To Make Every Home Entertainment Experience Real...
Summary: This amplifier works great. I bought it used but I can't seem to get the subwoofer working. It works great in test mode but for some reason no other modes seems to work DTS on/off pro-logic on/off. I tried everything it seems. I am wondering if I'm missing something.
Summary: I've had this receiver for about 2 weeks and I love it. I purchased it because it had 3 digital inputs, Dolby Digital and DTS, and the S-video inputs/outputs. I'm running a matched set of JBL speakers/powered subwoofer and the sound is fantastic.
Summary: The 509S is nicely priced so that just about anyone can establish a home theater system without breaking the bank. I myself bought this to upgrade to DTS (my old Pioneer had only Dolby Digital), but I'll be using it as my primary receiver now that I've had a chance to use it.
Summary: THE price is right and the performance is solid. Who said you have to pay $1000.00 for a full featured receiver, the only thing lacking is it doesnot have two coaxial inputs. Trust me for the quality and price purchase it. MACK
Summary: I was astounded by how well this performs compared to similar systems for double the money. I got it for the digital (optic) inputs, which are great for dvd and newer cd players and the s video switching abilities. Also, the remote control is very good.
