Pioneer VSK-920-K 7.1 an EXCELLENT CHOICE and EXCELLENT PERFORMER..

Summary: I purchased this unit Dec. 2010 and like any other electronics you need a lot of time for all of the kinks to get out, learn the FULL FUNCTIONS OF THE UNIT. I can now say the Pioneer VSX-920-K 7.1 is an EXCELLENT CHOICE & EXCELLENT PERFORMER. I HAVE 770 WATTS OF POWER, IT SOUNDS GREAT, I also have the PIONEER SW-8 POWERED SUBWOOFER. It operates with your iPod touch. THE SOUND IS UNBELIEVABLE.
The perfect receiver to fit with my old units, very fast turn around.

Summary: I was looking for a pioneer that 16.5 inch wide. I looked for weeks. I finally found it. The receiver arrive very quick and hooked up easy. Great sound. I need two zone and it is perfect. You can listen to zone b only which is awsome for parties and what not. Very happy with everything. Ebay is wonderful.
Great amp. Setup should include how to hookup a passive subwoofer.

Summary: You can't go wrong with Pioneer. I bought my first Pioneer amp (SX-1050) in the '70's. I have a Sony that is good but the Pioneer is better. The only problem I had was with setup. The manual does not address hooking up a passive subwoofer. I have a Bose speaker system that uses a passive subwoofer. I sent the subwoofer out for repair. $150 later I find out it is a setup problem. Bose answered my email, Pioneer didn't. Bose told me what to change and it fixed the problem.
Summary: I install home theater systems for a living and always recommend Pioneer receivers to customers. I have used this particular model many times in peoples homes, as well as in my own home. It does everything a dedicated surround sound receiver should and much more. Audio quality is top notch. Connection options are plentiful and with its video processing abilities, allows for very simple 1 wire connections to TVs.
Summary: i really have no complaints about this receiver. it is a nice piece of equipment. make sure you read the directions before doing anything and follow them exactly. i am only using the basic right now until i get the rest of my system together.
Summary: Very easy to set up. Nice sound. Ipod feature is really nice, just plug it in front with supplied cable. No audio return to TV though. I think you should have that option without having to first run it all to your tv and then to the receiver with optical.
Summary: This receiver was actually an upgrade I purchased over the 820-K version. I purchased the 820-K from a different "best box" store where the reps told me numerous times that it had upconversion, the 820-K did not, however, the 920-K does!! I ended up looking it up on amazon here and found it for $25 less than the lower version. Returned old receiever to the competition and bought amazon version.
Summary: If your Speaker "B" system is not working after you do the basic setup with 'Auto MCACC' you mut go to setup again, select MANUAL SP SETUP, SPEAKER SETTINGS, FRONT HEIGHT select NO, SURR.BACK, select SMALL,X2. The manual does not tell you to do this, and obviously some people at Pioneer do not know how to fix it. The reason I pass this along is because I was told by Pioneer that I had a bad Speaker Terminal so I returned the first product to Amazon.
Summary: Unbeatable for the price. The audio is great and the auto speaker setup feature works well. The most impressive however was the video upscaling. All inputs are upconverted and the improvement is amazing. So far no dowside that I can see.
