Summary: Yeah... like so many others here, my HDMI conked out completely. For quite some time, it had problems with a Comcast Motorola HD-DVR... when we would switch to On Demand programming, it would lose the HDMI and we'd get 'sparkles' or 'static'. The only way to fix it was to turn the receiver on/off.
Summary: I've had this receiver for only about 18 months. It worked fairly well at first but now I'm having issues with the HDMI out. Can get video/sound through from TV cable box but not from Roku or Blu-Ray box. They all worked until a week ago when I hooked it up to a new Panasonic Smart TV.
Summary: THIS IS A REVIEW OF SORTS ABOUT THE PIONEER RECEIVER VSX-920.IT WAS PURCHASED FROM AMAZON ON 11/30/10,DELIVERED 12/7/10 INSTALLED AND REGISTERED WITH PIONEER 12/29/10.THIS XMAS PRESENT REPLACED A SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD PIONEER RECEIVER FOR A HD VIDEO AND AUDIO UPGRADE.I HAVE OWNED MANY PIONEER PRODUCTS...
Summary: ...and then, it stoped working 3 months after warranty expired. It started to shut itself down when connected to HDMI components. It can be reset at first, and then stopped working altogether with any HDMI input. Similar problem as described by other reviewer that gave 1-star rating.
DO NOT BUY - HDMI output stopped working after 3 months
8 December 2011
Summary: If no stars was an option, I would have picked it, one star because I don't have a choice. It was shipped on time and received in good condition. Read the bad reviews on this receiver and DO NOT BUY IT. Pioneer quality doesn't exist anymore.
Summary: I have a long story about this receiver that you can fully read in the discussion boards... All you need to know though is to STAY AWAY from this product. It is junk. It is crap. It is garbage. Mine began to crap out after owning it for a mere two weeks...
Summary: My 14 year old son purchased this item with his own money. The item arrived as a refurbished item but I dont thinkit had been refurbished. The case was bent with broken parts rattling inside. I was able to finally get it set up with some assistance from my nephew who has the same system.
Summary: As the title indicates, this unit worked beautifully for us -- until about 3 months after the warranty expired, at which point the receiver also expired. First, it started losing HDMI "lock" with the TV, then it started corrupting the output signal -- finally the HDMI output flat out died. Period.
Summary: worked beautiful for about 4 months then kicked the bucket. Read all the one star reviews and you'll find that it's done it a lot. Maybe it was just a bad batch or something. When I bought it it had no such reviews. please save your money pay the extra 80 bucks or so and grab an Onkyo.
