Summary: Yeah... like so many others here, my HDMI conked out completely. For quite some time, it had problems with a Comcast Motorola HD-DVR... when we would switch to On Demand programming, it would lose the HDMI and we'd get 'sparkles' or 'static'. The only way to fix it was to turn the receiver on/off. Then the other day the HDMI would lose the picture, but keep the audio... it would either go black or the image would be pixelated, but all green or all magenta.

Summary: ...and then, it stoped working 3 months after warranty expired. It started to shut itself down when connected to HDMI components. It can be reset at first, and then stopped working altogether with any HDMI input. Similar problem as described by other reviewer that gave 1-star rating. I bought it to replace my retired 10-year old Dennon receiver. It worked great for the first 14 months with good sound, good video and good features. Thought I had a great bargain.
Summary: My 14 year old son purchased this item with his own money. The item arrived as a refurbished item but I dont thinkit had been refurbished. The case was bent with broken parts rattling inside. I was able to finally get it set up with some assistance from my nephew who has the same system. The sound volume was not very high and the system completely shut down after two months. It will cost half as much as a new one so there is a no brainer.
Summary: worked beautiful for about 4 months then kicked the bucket. Read all the one star reviews and you'll find that it's done it a lot. Maybe it was just a bad batch or something. When I bought it it had no such reviews. please save your money pay the extra 80 bucks or so and grab an Onkyo. Even if you are thinking of being cheap and grabbing the extend insurance think about it. If you like me it totally sucks not having it.
Summary: This product worked great for about the first 2 months with minimal use and then started acting up. It gave a green hue on the picture then no sound then it would come back. It started to have the picture come up and then go out more often contacted Amazon and got my full refund I would not recommend this to anyone. Also takes a very long time to go between inputs. I will be going to either an Onkyo or Yamaha unit.
Summary: Be careful with this receiver. Like many other comments on here mine stopped working after 3 months. It will not work property and the sound will give out. The worse part is that you are out of the Amazon return policy. I really wish Amazon would do something about bad products like this. I have bought Pioneer products before but this is the first time I am disappointed. The worst part is that Pioneer does not even offer a mail in for warranty fixes.
Summary: For the money this Pioneer can not be beat. I replaced a 2 yr old Harmon Kardon with this bad boy. Harmon Kardon cost the same, but was far lacking in features/power, Really love the included Mic for auto-calibration. The design is a little boring, which ironically is why I purchased the Harmon Kardon a few years ago, it looked GREAT. But the features and power the Pioneer packs really makes up for it!
Summary: As the title indicates, this unit worked beautifully for us -- until about 3 months after the warranty expired, at which point the receiver also expired. First, it started losing HDMI "lock" with the TV, then it started corrupting the output signal -- finally the HDMI output flat out died. Period. For a unit from a "reputable" brand, I would have hoped for more than 15 months of service out of this...
Summary: I have a long story about this receiver that you can fully read in the discussion boards... All you need to know though is to STAY AWAY from this product. It is junk. It is crap. It is garbage. Mine began to crap out after owning it for a mere two weeks... The problems were never fixed by Pioneer or their local authorized repair shop. Owning this receiver for 4 months equated to a 3.5 month headache.
