Summary: Well to summarize this experience would be a nightmare. It doesn't work properly such as lights flicking, remote doesn't interface with the receiver. Tried reprogramming the receiver and the remote, and they won't work together.
Summary: Before you think about Pioneer receivers just Google the problems and you will see many. First the manual is generous on pages otherwise is useless. The remote is the same story a lot of buttons but most are good for nothing. Now after less than two years I have HDCP ERROR that causes the receiver to turn off, so it takes me a number of tries to get it going. When you goole this error you will find many miserable sole like me searching for answers without getting any.
Summary: Basically all HDMI inputs failed after about 3 and 1/2 months. Aside from that I think the software was a bit to glitchy as from day one there were plenty of minor annnoyances like issues with Dolby Sound, the input switching everytime you turned a device on or off, and similar issues. Overall I do not think this really lives up to the pioneer name.
Summary: I've spent hours trying to satisfactorily set up this Pioneer VSX-919AH-K to no avail. I bought all new monster cable speaker wires and ran them to each speaker, making sure of accurate polarity. It's a nightmare trying to hook the speaker wires to the terminials without Banana plugs which I did not have. Then I meticulously hooked up my DVD/VHS recorder, a cassette deck and my DirecTV HDDVR. The performance of this unit leaves a lot to be desired.
