Pros: This unit has lots of connections and will probably be adequate for most home theatre systems.
Cons: Reliability with Pioneer receivers (in my experience) is awful. I will never buy one again. This one died on me after about 15 months. And I do mean died. Nothing, NADA, wouldn't even turn on. If you are shopping in this price range, I would suggest Yamaha receivers. They have superior sound, a s...
Summary: First one I ordered didn't work and sent it back. Second one did better for 6 months and then gradually all the HDMI connections didn't work. Switched over to RCA connectors instead and worked for about a month. Then the Ipod connection wouldn't work. And now the right channel has no sound.
Summary: I don't use the surround feature a lot but after owning this for a while, I noticed that one of the rear channels wasn't working properly. I could get it to work by tapping and shaking the connections in the back but something clearly wasn't working right.
Summary: Is anyone else having problems with the Audio when changing channels on the cable set top? I have the HDMI going from my FIOS Digital Cable Box to my Pioneer VSX-820-K and from it to my Samsung TV.
Summary: This is, without a doubt, the most poorly made piece of equipment I have ever purchased. I had to return the first unit I received because the TV's HDMI port stopped working after a week. Amazon replaced the unit without a problem.
