    This Receiver is great and does everything it's suppose to, but do not buy if you have HD components(PS3, Blu Ray players etc.) that you wish to listen to in surround sound with HDMI cables. I hooked my Playstation 3 up to this receiver thinking I would be able to play my video games in surround sound using a HDMI cable. The Fact is The HDMI ports only feed through and doesn't process though the receiver. Read more

    I am teqnically challenged when it comes to receivers so it is difficult to use and configure. The back is very well labled and easy to use and set up, but difficult to program. Again, tecnically challenged. Read more

Features

The VSX-818V-K features Phase Control which uses phase correction measures to make sure sound source arrives at the listening position in phase, preventing unwanted distortion and / or colouring of sound. It also features on-board Windows Media® Audio 9 Professional (WMA9 Pro-encoded audio using a coaxial or optical digital connection when connected to a WMA9 pro-compatible player); HDMI inputs that allows users to connect the receiver to a HDMI or DVI (with HDCP) equipment and features AV selection to cater to different set-ups for optimal sounds enjoyment. The receiver also has an iPod terminal that allows users to control playback of audio content from an iPod using the controls of the receiver via a USB cable to the iPod DIRECT terminal on the front panel of the receiver.
