Summary: What a great buy. I wanted it for a bedroom. Didn't need HDMI,because I just hooked the Blu-Ray direct to the TV and used the optical cable for digital sound. So it worked great. Great sound and the price was the best part.
Summary: Very good price range. Easy setup. Excellent audio quality. It has both standard, svideo and component video inputs/outputs and more input/outputs than any sane person would ever need. I have everything from my old cassete and turntable to my laptop and ipod hooked up to this thing... and everything in between and it all works flawlessly.
Summary: Good design, nice remote control, from what I've seen the remotes on the newer models are sleek looking but less functional. Large number of inputs, although no HDMI. Has auto speaker setup with acoustic microphone. I bought it for the price, features and Pioneer brand.
Summary: This thing ROCKS! I read many reviews on many different receivers. I recently departed with my old receiver, an AIWA 3.1 channel unit that pushed 110 WPC. I liked the power it had and wanted the same again. Many receivers I reviewed fell out because of low power. Pioneer just seems to realize that power sells. This was in my price range. I chose this model over the newer VSX 817 K because of the remote unit.
Summary: I received the wrong remote with my system and have had a hard time setting up everything properly. It works now and everything sounds great, but the universal remote was a little wanting for universality (couldn't find codes for my tv/dvr). I will keep this system for a long time, as long as I can. The sound is incredible for the price I paid!
