Summary: I've used this 7.1 AVR for 6 years now anm it performs exactly as pormised. Never any probs and it sounds beautiful. The 140 wpc is suffieficent for me- i drive Thiel 2.3CSs for fronts and Monitor Audio Brnze BX1s for rears and CDs, XM and even Pandora sound quite good. The MCCAC feature works very well, to set up your speakers. The ipod feature is unimportant to me as the source is , well, crummy so what u get out is ditto.
Summary: A GOOD BUY NOW THAT IT IS NO LONGER ON THE CUTTING EDGE, AS IT DOES NOT PASS THROUGH 1080p SIGNALS....ONLY 1080i....AND THERE ARE BUT TWO hdmi INPUTS. IT'S FEATURE SET IS STILL REMARKABLE AND THE AUDESSEY SOUNDFIELD SETUP WORKS VERY WELL.
Summary: This is by far the best receiver that I have ever had the pleasure of using. I have had Harman Kardon avr-445, avr-354, Yamaha Rx-v2600, Yamaha Rx-v659, Onkyo tx-sr605 and 703, Marantz..you name a brand I have owned them all. If you want a receiver that sounds great this is the one for you. I do not get into all of the excitement of HDMI up-conversion and all of that. When I buy a receiver I buy it for the set-up (Calibration) and the sound.
Summary: This receiver is great, lots of power, lots of features, a plethora of connections and great setup menu (although it is quite plain. It even has usb audio which works great with my laptop... never used usb for audio and amazed how well it works. It also stays fairly cool.
Summary: Very powerful, great sound, and lots of features for the money. I am pushing Infinity Beta Series speakers with it and my friends are blown away when I show off my system. My only complaint is that it is a little slow picking up the HDMI signal when switching sources, but the wait is minimal considering all of the pros versus this only con that I have found on this receiver. An excellent buy!
