Summary: A bit fiddly concerning channels within each source (HDMI, Component etc all on one source, and then switching between type can be annoying). Not really an issue on sources where you only have one thing plugged in, since it auto detects power coming into the right type, but annoying for things like DVD or TV which have several options to cycle through. Literally my only complaint about this, though, as everything else works exactly as I wanted it.
Sounds good, priced good, absolute nightmare to operate.

Summary: After a couple hours, I can fully understand why this model has been discontinued. It's a nightmarish quagmire to configure and operate - particularly if you don't happen to have any displays old enough to still use a composite video input, since for reasons unknown, the on screen menus do not output to the main HDMI. Mode / input / task switching is slow as dirt. Not "responsive" at all.
Summary: I am from London and when I order the Pioneer Vsx 522 first in the box was missing remote control and without that you can not do at all the things that you want. Its REALLY annoying. There is a guidance but missing a lot of things for example how to conect with the PC. When I try to call them couple of times all the time was the answering machine and online chat its not available. And in the end I took the receiver and through away.

Summary: Was a great unit, 10 weeks in it developed a problem with the Display. Sent to a Pioneer Repair station and after 3 weeks, the part they received to fix it was bad out of the box. Called Pioneer Customer Service and they decided to send me a new current year model, the VSX-524-K Our Previous Pioneer went 9 years. Would recommend buying the newer unit.
Summary: The unit worked well but has one major problem. That is the bass and loudness controls have no effect on the sound from the subwoofer even though the front panel display shows them working. There is no change in bass volume. I proved this by watching a strip of paper loosely taped over the port of the subwoofer as I attempted to raise and lower the bass level and loudness. Pioneer customer service was unable to solve the problem.
Summary: A perfect choice for any home stereo system. Setup allows for choosing which speakers are actually connected to the receiver from basic Left-Right Stereo Channels to the full 5.1 Surround Sound. Able to hook up multiple inputs via HDMI. Large dials make it easy to adjust input and volume. Even has a port for iPhone/iPad to play MP3 files. Built-in circuit protection to power down the system in case of overload or shorts in the speaker wires is a definite plus.
Great surround sound system at an extreme value pricing!

Summary: This surround sound system produces fantastic quality entertainment with a price that is extremely affordable. It features an easy hook up with multiple inputs to match current video and sound technology. I have recommended this product for several installations for friends and family.
Summary: After only a couple of months, I remain pleased. It works well with my surround system so what more can I ask? I've yet to use the iPod connection but I'm sure it'll perform well. This was a quality purchase at a fabulous price.
