Summary: Do not waste your money- invest in a better quality receiver!! Totally disgusted with this product... & Pioneer in general. 10 months after purchasing-- this receiver just "went out" & stopped working; NO power at all. Pioneer graciously allowed me to ship my reciever "out of state" to be repaired under the warranty- and might I add with the rudest electronics co I've ever dealt with. Now, 18 months later, same problem- only now it is no longer under warranty.
Summary: Purchased this receiver and was initially happy with it. In less then a year, however, it had difficulty switching between TV and computer and difficulty transmitting audio. Now it has become such a hassle to use, we're buying another receiver to replace it. I would not recommend this to a friend.
Summary: I got one of of these over a year ago for $167. Not sure why the price is so much higher now. Maybe because it's such a good unit. The sound is incredible and it does everything that I need it to do. I can't think of anything that I don't like about it. The only very minor flaw is that the navigation is a bit clunky. I'm very good technically and still I sometimes have to refer to the manual to find a particular setting. Other than that it's perfect. You won't regret it.
Summary: I bought this to coordinate and drive the sound for my home tv/theatre system. It works very well for that purpose. More than enough power to handle my needs and to drive the 5 speakers involved. No negatives that I can see. Would buy again.
Summary: Agree with what others have said about affordability, ease of use, etc. BUT this is my 2nd Pioneer receiver - they conveniently die after the warranty period. NO fan system + BAD cooling design = 1 year life span. Caveat emptor! You've been warned by a two time buyer!
