The Pioneer VSX 517 Home Theater Receiver makes use of 5 channels, and features a sound retriever. It is able to provide a high power output to all these channels. It has several decoders built in to it namely DTS ES, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic II as well as DTS 96/24. It uses Stream Direct to produce unprocessed and pure digital sound experience. It needs an alternating current of 120 volts or 60 Hz to be able to perform its functions. It also makes use of 320 watts for its power consumption. When on standby, it only uses up 0.5 watts of power. Its dimensions are 16.56 inches wide, 6.25 inches high, and 13.87 inches deep. It weighs 9 kilograms.
