Summary: I have the VSX-1122K. After reading a lot of bad reviews of irritated customers having problems with this unit i was very hesitant to buy it. But I did and i immediately had two problems. One of which was the Pandora radio feature that is fixed with the update via USB flash. The other was that it did not like my DirecTV box to be plugged in via HDMI at all. It would work for a few minutes but then would start having problems and just lose signal.
Summary: I've had this for about a year. I recommend it if you want Internet access and use an Apple iPad. It took me awhile to link up internet radio stations, find Roku remote iPad control app, setup iTunes from home Windows PC and get pandora to function. The iPad apps I use are Pioneer Icontrol 2012, roku remote, apple Remote for iTunes control. Initial setup was wonderful with the electronic setup and external microphone.
Summary: I bought six of these to run my entire home speaker and theater...was going to buy SONOS for each speaker set but it was about $550 per room....This was bought thru Amazon and the price was just below 1/2 that. I am running my itunes thru my network and can control each thru the free App....Super Cool! Each receiver has its own name thru the network and can be found and run by my 5 year old! The best purchase I did in the last 5 years.
Summary: To say the least, "IT'S GREAT". The sound is fantastic, very clear. It was a breeze to set up, it even found a problem with my Bose speaker system. I had a couple phase problems that I wasn't aware of with my old setup. Pandora works great and the online updates also is very convenient. The price was the best I could find anywhere and it arrived on the date promised. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a nice modern receiver.
Summary: I really enjoy using this AV receiver. I used to have an older Pioneer vsx model that worked, but needed a receiver that had a second zone. I have a deck outside my house that I used to send sound to, but it had to be the same source as was playing in the house. Now I can stream a second source to the deck. HOWEVER, and this is a small gripe about the technology, the second zone ONLY accepts an ANALOG signal and NOT a digital.
