Summary: If your looking for a solid receiver for a fair value this is the one. The multi-zone feature really allows you to enjoy your music in 2 different zones. The other feature I really like is the ability for the receiver to be controlled by an iPhone.
Summary: I had been using JVC receivers for years and felt the need to update to an HDMI, up scaling receiver with preamp outs (I run two sets of speakers for each of the 7 channels). Pioneer's VSX 1121 K seemed the way to go. Now, before you all go " But this is a review for the 1122!", I had to update to the 1122 within a year and I will tell you why.
Summary: Awesome machine...but a little difficult to set-up for a confessed electronics lackey. Even my hubby who's an electronics whiz was a little overwhelmed by this unit and had to do lots of research to get everything set up.
Summary: I've been a fan of Pioneer for years. This is my first non-Elite receiver and it works pretty well. Set up was easy. Though putting in the password for Sirius/XM was tedious; you only have to do it once. Only problem I am having with it is the HDMI interface to my Samsung TV. The two units talk to each other over the link and reset my "DVR" as the input selected back to TV at power up. I have to change the input every time at power up.
Summary: A very good unit for a home theater as long as you are using a nearby TV. I use a projector that is located further than 24' from this receiver. As a result, new HDMI protocols in effect since 2/13 will not allow this receiver to push the signal out from the receiver to the projector even when using a new 30' high performance 1.4 HDMI cable.
Summary: This is the 2nd one I have installed in my house for surround sound. I have thhis one installed with a 70 inch 480hz Sharp TV using Polk speakers all around. very easy set up, Only reason i did not give it 5 stars is I would have liked to have an instruction book inclosed with the receiver
Summary: Does exactly what it says it does. Hook-up is straightforward and there is plenty of flexibility to provide the surround sound experience that you desire. It has more HDMI hookups than I need and it does it all at an excellent price. Sound level indicator is a bit strange as it seems that you need to turn the volume very high to get a reasonable sound level, but that isn't a big deal.
Summary: It works well with my Dish receiver and new TV and speaker system. Also installed outdoor speakers, but due to winter, I haven't had time to listen to them on the deck. ALso have not yet figured out how to control with the iPad. Will be spending some time reading manuals.
