Summary: I replaced ..my vsx-21 txh ..with the 1121-k and i was not disappointed at all... when it came to sound/ Q ..the both receivers ..were neck and neck ...but on the video side of things the 1121-k edged ahead .. what made the difference is the QDEO video chip set..
Summary: Some common complaints about this unit is the power cord. C'mon people, who cares if it's flimsy, how often are you tugging at your power cord? Also, you can update the firmware using the PC application that comes with the unit.
Pros: Overall rating breakdown: Features - 5 stars Build Quality - 4 stars Sound Qualify - 4 stars * 7.1 decoding for just about all surround sounds types available in home theater market. * Full 7.1 preamp outputs, in case the onboard 110 watts doesn't suffice. * Airplay for iPhone, iPad, iTouch users...
Cons: * DLNA does NOT play video. I thought it did, since DLNA supports both video and audio, but not for this unit. * Advertised as 110 watts. Sounds decent enough, but doesn't compare to my 200 watt rms Carver power amp. This is probably an unfair assessment, but one worth noting nonetheless. * On sc...
Summary: I really love the VSX-1121! Sounds great, Airplay is awesome, iPad app is great. I have had some video upconversion issues with the receiver where it gets a grey screen sometimes switching channels. Easily remedied by flipping to another channel and flipping back.
Pros: Good sound for the money. This is my set up: LED 55 inches Samsung TV Denon CD players Samsung 6500 BD player Yamaha 70 EQ Got this receiver hook up to 2 main Energy cf-70, and energy micro 5 packs surround become a powerful home entertainment. I probably need a sub but still debating on what sub...
Cons: I would suggest this receiver for anyone who interested in Pioneer gears. However, buy this model or elite one. Don't buy the cheaper models. Good luck
Summary: I finally broke down and purchased a big boy receiver after going almost 5 years using some glorified computer speakers as my surround sound setup. I definitely love the product, although I have yet to attach it to some decent speakers.
Summary: After returning it (and paying shipping) Newegg was out of stock on this product. (its obviously back for now at least) Unable to replace it they charged a $120 restocking fee. First time Ive ever had an issue with Newegg, but then again this is the first return I've ever made.
Pros: I wrote the previous review "Turn it up" and gave it 5 stars.
Cons: After 4 days of use the unit quit sending a video signal and I had to send it back. This is the first time I have ever had a problem with a Pioneer product but thought it was worth mentioning that this unit only lasted a few days. I did love it while it worked.
Summary: This is my second Pioneer, I replaced an older VSX-1015-TX that held up nicely (gave it to my son). As you will see in some reviews, one of the biggest complaints is the loose power cord. I just used a cord from and old computer monitor and it's much better. For the price, this unit is hard to beat.
Summary: This is a great-sounding, full-featured receiver. Although I've ready many reviews about receivers having to be returned because of defects (few such reviews for this unit), this one appears to have arrived with everything working perfectly.
Solid, feature rich and excellent video processing!

Summary: I pitted this AVR against a Denon AVR-2311CI. The Denon is a older model that is replaced by the 2312. In any case these 2 excel in different ways. First the pioneer, the video processing is a stand out!! With the Marvel video processing chip the HD on this was simply stellar!
Summary: Sophisticated hardware, all the features are there. Just not so easy to configure to your liking. Auto MCACC may give not satisfying results. But you always can override manually and there are plethora of settings.
