Cons: There is a manufacturing defect which Pioneer will not fix on these units. After about years (after warranty) the dreaded UE22 code will appear. If you google this you will find many many threads and forums on it. Loved it before this failure. Fix will cost $600. DON'T BUY PIONEER RECEIVERS. Ther...
Cons: Great when it works. Buggy software, bad network compatibility, airplay works mostly, but not always. Unit is prone to UE22 failure rendering it non-functional. (no sound, which is really a bad thing for a receiver)
Cons: The airplay did not work well and it died with what turns out to be a very common defect on this unit - search the internet for error code UE22. Three years of very light use is pretty ridiculous for electronics these days. It was in a well ventilated area and is free of dust in all vents.
Cons: From day one this has been a finicky receiver. Ever so often having to reset to factory defaults and multiple attempts to do firmware update. I am very disappointed with Pioneer's lack of support on their receivers. Do a Google search on Pioneer UE22 error codes and you will see that it is a comm...
Cons: Lost all functionality from HDMI I get no pass through at all. I have checked all my cables and they are working correctly as well as my devices. I narrowed it down to the VSX-1121 being the issue. I have a request into Pioneer to see if they will fix this issue.
Summary: While this may not considered a review, this is my experience with this unit. First let me say that when this unit works, it is great. The sound and iPad interface are my favorite features. That being said, this is my experience with this unit.
Summary: I bought this receiver used via the warehouse deals. Unit came in original packing (but packaging was obviously re-taped many times). The internal packaging was a bit rough and many of the accessories were scattered throughout the box. The actual receiver looks like new...if fact it is spotless!
Summary: Purchased this new on Amazon. Features were fine... when it lasted. The video card burned out after 6 months. It has now been at the repair shop for warranty repairs for 1 month, with no ETA for the repairs. Pioneer support has been unhelpful. I'm throwing in the towel and buying another brand.
