Summary: Hello I purchased a vsx 1121k in dec of 2012. I admit it was the best avr I had ever purchased. At about the second year, the hdmi out started going crazy. I regret after discussing with many repair people that the hdmi board in all pioneer avrs are flaky and widely known for hdmi failures. This wouldn't be that bad if the replacement board is $400 plus just for the board. Add labor and you might as well purchase a brand with quality parts inside.
Summary: intermittent HDCP errors although all of my a/v components are compliant. as of two days ago, the unit won't recognize any HDMI connections or speakers. I've had the unit for 2yrs, and of course it's out of warranty, so pioneer won't do anything to assist - they basically blamed other components for the handshake errors. never buying pioneer products again. terrible longevity, terrible customer service.
Summary: Bought this in December of 2011, it just died! This is first receiver out of five to ever stop working, what a shame. I still have an old Yamaha from the early 90's. They don't make receivers like they used too. I'm done with Pioneer, my last receiver before this one had issues as well, the connectors started to break off for no reason. The sad part about this receiver is that I never even ran it as hard as my other ones, what a waste of $$$.
Summary: We loved our Pioneer VSX-921-K, so when it came time to get a receiver with HDMI capabilities, we got the VSX-1121-K. As other reviewers have stated, it's a great device... when it works. I'll let you read other reviews to find out the positive side of this unit, but I'm here to vent... This unit died at 19 months of age. If you noticed, that's 7 months after the measly 1-year warranty expires.
Summary: No picture, No sound. After 3 months of light use it completely failed. Great receiver, while it lasted. Will be switching to the Yamaha receiver at this point. After reading reviews by others, I don't have much faith in the longevity of this unit.
Summary: While this may not considered a review, this is my experience with this unit. First let me say that when this unit works, it is great. The sound and iPad interface are my favorite features. That being said, this is my experience with this unit. I purchased a VSX-1121-K receiver from Amazon on 2-21-12. I installed the receiver and all was working great until 6-10-12. On 6-10-12, I shut the receiver off before leaving the house.
Summary: Purchased this new on Amazon. Features were fine... when it lasted. The video card burned out after 6 months. It has now been at the repair shop for warranty repairs for 1 month, with no ETA for the repairs. Pioneer support has been unhelpful. I'm throwing in the towel and buying another brand. Avoid Pioneer... TERRIBLE customer service in my experience.
