Summary: We bought this receiver 3 years ago hoping that it would last. When we first got it, it sounded great. After 2 years, we noticed the left side channel cutting lout intermittently. The problem has gotten worse and Pioneer was no help in correcting it.

Summary: Although discontinued, this family of receivers are fantastic. It comes with a microphone on a 25' cord- You position the microphone where you sit and tell the unit to calibrate to the acoustics of the room. It takes about 3 minutes to calibrate my theater consisting of 9 speakers.
Summary: Hello I purchased a vsx 1121k in dec of 2012. I admit it was the best avr I had ever purchased. At about the second year, the hdmi out started going crazy. I regret after discussing with many repair people that the hdmi board in all pioneer avrs are flaky and widely known for hdmi failures.
Summary: From day one, the Pioneer VSX-1121 has exceeded my expectations. The price point was well below the Elite series, but the functionality is right up there with the big boys. Highly recommended.
Summary: Great home theater receiver with lots of features. Pioneer has always been my choice when it comes to affordable, quality audio equipment. I would recommend this receiver to anyone looking for a quality receiver.
Summary: I have had this receiver for nearly two years now, and love the way it operates, for the most part. It outputs clean, loud sound, and the various settings for surround sound are easily switched between and create the desired effects.
Summary: intermittent HDCP errors although all of my a/v components are compliant. as of two days ago, the unit won't recognize any HDMI connections or speakers. I've had the unit for 2yrs, and of course it's out of warranty, so pioneer won't do anything to assist - they basically blamed other components for...
Summary: I really like this receiver, but I wanted to use it to listen to Internet radio. Unfortunately, its Internet radio depends on a site called pioneer.vtuner.com, which is often down or misbehaving. Do not buy a Pioneer receiver for Internet radio or you will be sorely disappointed.
Summary: Bought this in December of 2011, it just died! This is first receiver out of five to ever stop working, what a shame. I still have an old Yamaha from the early 90's. They don't make receivers like they used too.
