Summary: I puchased one of these in November of 2012. I have to say, i was impressed with it at the time of purchase. Had everything I could have asked for and I loved it. Over time, (right after the warranty expired), the nework functions started acting up, eventually failing. Then a few months later loss of complete sound. I never used it very much, only to veiw an occasional movie, or listen to music off my home network.
Summary: I got 9 months out of this receiver before it made a pop sound in the front speakers at power up and shut down for good. Seems to be some common issue with the CPU or the power-up/stand-by circuitry from what I could find out. Like others commenting on this unit, I feel the Pioneer warranty is garbage. The few service centers are a long drive or expensive ship from where I am (near Boston!). And its not like they debug it, fix it or give you a new one at no cost to you.
Summary: I don't usually write reviews, but this receiver sucks so bad, I just had to. I have owned it for 1 year now (purchased February 2013) and since then I have had major problems. Within the first 3 months, I had to perform factory resets multiple times, and one of the HDMI ports quit working altogether. Since then, another port has died, and I have to reset it a minimum of once per month.
Summary: I bought this in March of 2013. It worked great for about 4 months and then I had an issue with the right front speaker output that made my speaker make a high pitch whining noise that is unbearable. I had to disconnect that speaker. Since the 4 months had past, it has been having blackouts with the HDMI. Now in the beginning of December which is about 8 months since I hooked it up, all of the HDMI outputs do not work. Complete blackout.
Summary: Worked well for 10 months...few click noises and now NO POWER at all. Many recent reviews indicate similar problem even sooner in "life" of product. Ridiculous quality...will definitely look for another brand. What happened to you, Pioneer?
Summary: I was slow to get with the HDMI all in one receivers, having just gone with sound bars, and pluggin into " Home Entertainment systems". But with Blu-Ray, Xbox 360, DVD, wanted something with more output, and reduce HDMI inputs needed on TV. this unit is great, loads of inputs, has a mic to help you set up your sound in the room its in, not generic output, but actually takes a reading to determine proper output to various speakers based on your room size, acoustics, etc.
Summary: Easy set-up right out of the box. Very useful if you have apple devices that utilize AirPlay, as it is built right into this device. Channels A and B make it nice for multi-room use or indoor/outdoor listening. Customizable speaker configurations with tons of pre-set listening modes to chose from. HDMI pass-through works great so you do not have to turn on the device to watch just the TV.
Summary: great receiver. I've had Pioneer equipment for years now, and this unit was not a disappointment. The firmware update was simple and easy. I like having Pandora, and internet radio. for the money, you cant beat Pioneer! Sound Quality!
