Still a great purchase!

frobernal, Amazon
31 July 2014
  • Summary: 3 years later and I'm still a fan. I have this set up with a full 5.1 Klipsch speaker system, 12" sub, and 2 tactile transducers in my couch and I've been happy as a clam ever since.

  • Summary: Powerful, authoritative, crisp and clear...this receiver rocks as a home theater base unit at a price point that allows the budget conscious buy without destroying the bank account. Pioneer quality that gets real close to high end.

  • Summary: A wonderful amp. Incredible sound, All the Ethernet capability and apps for Android/Apple Amplifier control merged with Media server, catapult these amps into the league all there own. WOW. Give this amp and the new family of Pioneer Class D amplifiers a look and see what we've been missing.

LOVE built in Apple Airplay

scorex123, Ebay
6 July 2012
  • Summary: Love the built in Airplay. We use the B speaker setting to play from our iphone/ipad and listen to music in other rooms around the house. Now we can listen to music in the bathroom or on the porch without any issues at all.

Best receiver I've ever owned

rioplast, Ebay
11 June 2012
  • Summary: I purchased this receiver as an open box item with slight damage. I received the item in the exact condition described on the page. This machine is the perfect mid-range receiver for the home theater enthusiast. The greatest feature of this machine is its iPhone/iPad app.

Ease of Setup AMAZING! Full of features

The8x10, CNET
23 February 2012
  • Summary: For frame of reference, this is my first AV receiver upgrade in over 10 years, so I may gush about features that are commonplace now. Also I have never used more than 5.1 until now, but moved to 7.1 at the same time as this purchase.
  • Pros: System sets itself up., iOS app easy for non-techies., AirPlay works!, STREAMS FLAC!, PC CD config tool!, A configuration OSD displays on tv set & is very easy to work., System does what it is supposed to do., Jumped on network no trouble., REMOTE LEARNS
  • Cons: I have only owned this for less than 24 hours. Also have small home theater setup. Haven't had time to find the one or two design flaws that make you shake your head and WTF? yet but I am sure they are there., Right now any CONS are super minor.

Would buy again given same choice

z_russak, Ebay
2 February 2012
  • Summary: Device is a super performer in terms of Build Quality, Sound Quality and Connectivity. Of its plurality of features I found the network connection to be very useful. The rest of its special features, such as iPOD connectivity proved useless in a regular day-to-day use. Pros: Super performance.

This is a great product with all of the bells and whistles.

  • Summary: I am sure this is a great reciever, I still need to get it set up. I have had good luck with all Pioneer Recievers. It is pretty tech savy, so if you are not, you might want to opt for someone who is to get it set up.
