Summary: Purchased this to replace a similar Pioneer of lesser features in the $300 range. Very happy with this guy. Use with PS3, Sony 46in LCD HDTV, Sony DVD multi player, ethernet directly to unit, sirius radio, 2 zones, iPhone constantly playing, charter cable.
Pros: packed with features, multi-zone, iPhone/pod support (cable incl)
Cons: one slight issue with the headphone jack thinking headphones are plugged in :-)
Summary: The reciver brought my TV viewing to life. I did not realize all the sounds I was missing. Installation was pretty straight forward. Netwoking the receiver made adjusting all the settings easy, and the tablet app makes it fun to play with the sounds around the room.
This thing is the perfect over all receiver for the serious intermediate.

Summary: This is not your everyday receiver. It takes a bit of audiophile knowledge to get it to do what it is capable of doing. If you are not an diehard audiophile you may want to find something a bit more consumer friendly. If you do have the knowledge, you are going to love this machine!
Pros: I'm not a pro by any means when it comes to AV Receivers so I was glad to see how easy it is for the receiver to automatically configure all the surround sound speakers. There are also plenty of inputs for everything I need
Cons: chowchewey reported in the review below this one that he experienced the screen blacking out for a second or two every hour for no reason. I've experienced the same. I'm contacting Pioneer support about this to see if they can provide a fix. But this is just a very minor annoyance really.
Summary: What most people don't realize is that published specs are almost inconsequential to perceived sound quality. They juice all kinds of numbers (wattage) and ignore others. It is generally recognized within the professional audio community (AES), for instance, that Total Harmonic Distortion, is a...
Summary: First of all, kudos for Amazon and 5th Ave Electronics for FAST and safe shipping. Really like the iPhone integration features. New modes step up functionality from my previous receiver which cost me nearly 4 times as much (Marantz SR-8001).
Summary: I would recommend this product to anyone, even with the few "cons". The quality is top notch. The electronics are great and my HDMI signal never looked better!
Pros: This unit has all the features you could want - HDMI i/o, upscaling, self calibration of sound system, etc.
Cons: While this is a great product for the price there are a few things missing that made me wonder. First, it has an "ethernet" connection which is great. But etherhet? It has a plug-in for Bluetooth but nothing for wireless? I bet there are more wireless networks out in the world than wired. So I wo...
Summary: I am using the $400 Polk audio surround speaker system I also purchased at Newegg and I am really amazed at how great this package sounds for the small investment of $800.00!!! I am a Bose 901 speaker lover for music but system this plays back music as well very very good for the money!
Pros: Lots of features and plenty of power. The iphone adapter is very nice, play Pandora and control the volume off your iphone. Lots of HDMI hookups and RCA jacks.
Cons: The romote is a joke as many others have pointed out, but it works fine, just takes lots of patience to understand and good eyes are needed to see the tiny buttons. The user manual is extensive and was a little difficult to understand, at least for me.
Summary: Pioneer is so close to having it right. I'd say invest in improving the iPhone app, and do away with the remote. Clearly, the remote receives no industrial engineering time. The iPhone app very convenient. I can sit on our deck outside, and control of the volume of the music.
Pros: 6 HDMI's, can handle 9.1 with no B speakers, 7.1 with no second zone but with B speakers, or 5.1 with second zone and B speakers. iPhone wi-fi control is very slick.
Cons: Connecting the cable box via HDMI does not allow you to use the TV button which will prevent you from consolidating the cable box remote to the pioneer remote. iPhone app is great, but just a few more things would make it awesome. You change inputs, control volume, but you can say change a radio ...
