Summary: Purchased this to replace a similar Pioneer of lesser features in the $300 range. Very happy with this guy. Use with PS3, Sony 46in LCD HDTV, Sony DVD multi player, ethernet directly to unit, sirius radio, 2 zones, iPhone constantly playing, charter cable. Just need one more HDMI input and it would be perfect. Great value for the features.
Pros: packed with features, multi-zone, iPhone/pod support (cable incl)
Cons: one slight issue with the headphone jack thinking headphones are plugged in :-)
Summary: The reciver brought my TV viewing to life. I did not realize all the sounds I was missing. Installation was pretty straight forward. Netwoking the receiver made adjusting all the settings easy, and the tablet app makes it fun to play with the sounds around the room. This was a good buy for the money.
Excerpt: Must make several setups and choose output mode. Great for patient people with good ears. Good with iPhone & Internet Radio. Best with High Quality Input devices. Cons: Not quite computer and local network ready. My setup has sufficient extra video and sound out from computers to work ok. Using DISH HD as a source, the receiver chooses output almost randomly, often defeating dialog enhancement settings.
This thing is the perfect over all receiver for the serious intermediate.

Summary: This is not your everyday receiver. It takes a bit of audiophile knowledge to get it to do what it is capable of doing. If you are not an diehard audiophile you may want to find something a bit more consumer friendly. If you do have the knowledge, you are going to love this machine! I am a musician and sound clarity is as important to me as timing. I got the pioneer speakers to go with this and the sound blows away some of the more expensive sets that I have heard.
Summary: The product has great reviews all over the internet but the price when compared to Onkyo SR 608 was always much higher but at J&R I got it for the same price (a little) cheaper. It has worked great for us.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Setup, Energy Efficient, Good Power Output, Great for Music, Great Sound Quality, Love Automatic Setup, Nice UI
Summary: A much better choice than the Onkyo SR608 I returned to J&R to get the Pioneer. Pioneer tech support was very helpful--after a short wait--understanding that not everyone is a techie. The sound is fantastic with my Bose speakers, and unlike Onkyo, the Pioneer supports all of my Apple devices.
Pros: Great Sound Quality, Supports Apple devices, Very good tech support
Cons: Confusing / Bad Remote Control, Difficult To Set Up
