Summary: While it worked, this was an excellent receiver - hence the 2 stars. Unfortunately - it turns out there is a reason why Pioneer is one of the few companies that dropped their warranty to 1 year: their receivers are not as reliable as they were in the past. As it happens - we passed the year mark and they were right - receiver stopped working. Now - please do not get me wrong. I understand electronics are more and more complex and less and less reliable.
Summary: purchased the receiver 8 months ago, 2 channels of the amplifier just blew up. Smoked and receiver indicated amp error. The receiver wasn't even on, the smoking happened during power up. I contacted Pioneer and they directed me to some 3rd party repair center and the support has been horrible by both Pioneer and the 3rd party service center. I haven't been able to watch TV for 2 weeks now and they're waiting on some back ordered part.
Summary: I've only had it hooked up for about 1 week. So far no issues and the video quality seems very good so does the quality of the sound. I chose this model over the Onkyo for some of the features that is has. However, it just doesn't deliver very well on those features. I liked the ipod hook up and internet radio. That said, the ipod hookup doesn't function well or mine is simply broken. It takes a few minutes for the screen to populate with the songs and playlists.
