Summary: While I was initially pleased with my purchase, the receiver suddenly stopped producing any sound and became totally unresponsive to any input from either the receiver face or remote until it was unplugged and powered back up.
Summary: Some others have written that this occurred for them too. It just started happening to me. I've had it about a year and one half. I have no idea why. It's not running hot, just about every ten min. turn on and off.
Summary: Pioneer VSX-1021-K 7.1 Home Theater Receiver, Glossy Black We used this receiver for a year and a half without any complaints. Then it started periodically turning off. Unless you want to buy a receiver every year or so, skip this one.
Summary: Bought this product for Xmas 2011. All I run through it are a Verizon DVR box and an Apple TV which plug into a Panasonic 55" VT30 Series Plasma HDTV - TCP55VT30. Ran great the first and 2nd day, then on the 3rd it shut down with an "Amp Overheat" error message, and the dreaded blue light.
Summary: Worked great for almost a year. It was lightly used and then all the sudden nothing would display through it. Luckily it's under warranty but from reading other reviews it maybe better to get a different unit.
Summary: I bought this receiver back in September of 2011 from Amazon and the unit arrived on time as ususal (love Amazon!)and worked flawlessly. I can't fault the features and quality of the VSX -1020.
Summary: I've owned this receiver for just over a year and it has already stopped working. What a piece of #%?\! A few days ago it started shutting off by itself when it wasn't even hot. I unplugged all of the wires and reconnected everything and it seemed fine for the next few hours but then it started...
Trash that should have never left the designers desk.

Summary: This is a pioneer turkey, designed to make pioneer lots of money selling overpriced HDMI boards. Everything is run through that board which fails often rendering your receiver into a paper weight.
Summary: It was a cool receiver for the 3 days it worked. It has quite a few features I likes such as built in ipod support with direct control through the GUI. I was also interested in the network port but it broke before I got a chance to set it up.
Summary: I had this receiver maybe 6 months and it stopped working. Audio worked but it would not deliver any video (tried multiple devices). I called Pioneer and they WOULD NOT honor their 1 year guarantee. Pioneer support was very unfriendly and basically hung up on me. Avoid Pioneer products at all cost.
