Summary: Excellence in A/V receivers is Pioneer ..........PERIOD!!! All the features for a reasonable cost and pass through 3D to boot! Have owned now for over six months and purchased a new 60" 3D Plasma (60PZ550 LG) the Pioneer works perfect with it!
Summary: I've owned this receiver for 4 yrs now and totally love it! it has every feature you could possibly imagine - and then some! it's also super easy to setup and use as an a/v switch, for multiple hdmi inputs to 1 output. i currently have my boxee box, dvd player [which i seldom use anymore], and ps3 hooked up to it, going out via a single hdmi up thru the wall and ceiling to my ceiling mounted projector. the 1017 rocks!
This model is great and I highly recommend all Pioneer receivers!

Summary: Great sounding amp, people say that other brands are better but my ears listen and crown pioneer the king when all settings are adjusted right. Yamaha came close for first place, but their impact sound was not as good as pioneer. I've tried RCA, SONY, YAMAHA, LOGITECH(great for cheap price), KLH(great for stereo2 speakers old school), insignia, etc... and Pioneer beats them all in the surround sound dept.
Summary: I'm not going to do a long review seeing as how you can look up the specs for this receiver and see what it is capable of. I will tell you that you can't get all of the features of this receiver including THX certification for less than 700 bucks now days. I use this receiver for everything. It is hooked up to my CPU, TV, Playstation 3, ipod. I haven't experienced any hiccups and I really pound this thing hard.
Summary: Really like the ability to bi-amp and auto calibrate. Free I-pod cable is nice but the User interface for it is pretty poor. It has a little feed back when cranked up for movies that probably wouldn't be there if I spent twice as much.
Summary: The first one of this model I got and after 32 days the receiver started having audio problems to the front left and right channels. After calling Pioneer and having them tell me to take it to a local place to get fixed under warranty, I got it back two weeks later and it was still broke. I eventually traded it out with another receiver of the same model.
Summary: Well believe it or not I bought this product last year to replace a pioneer Dolby pro-logic that I had since 1995, so you could imagine the difference in sound quality. Believe it or not but during installation I spent an additional $100 for nothing because i couldn't get any output from my unit which i thought was bad. So geek squad came to my house and charged $100 to turn my volume up for me.
Summary: This receiver is complicated and it will take me a while to figure it out. I am very satisfied with it. I bought it for the Super Bowl and was very impressed with the sound qaulity that it produced. This was an upgrade to my previous receiver. It has a lot of options that I will have to learn to use.
