Summary: Excellence in A/V receivers is Pioneer ..........PERIOD!!! All the features for a reasonable cost and pass through 3D to boot! Have owned now for over six months and purchased a new 60" 3D Plasma (60PZ550 LG) the Pioneer works perfect with it!
Summary: I've owned this receiver for 4 yrs now and totally love it! it has every feature you could possibly imagine - and then some! it's also super easy to setup and use as an a/v switch, for multiple hdmi inputs to 1 output.
Summary: I'm not going to do a long review seeing as how you can look up the specs for this receiver and see what it is capable of. I will tell you that you can't get all of the features of this receiver including THX certification for less than 700 bucks now days. I use this receiver for everything.
Summary: Really like the ability to bi-amp and auto calibrate. Free I-pod cable is nice but the User interface for it is pretty poor. It has a little feed back when cranked up for movies that probably wouldn't be there if I spent twice as much.
Summary: The first one of this model I got and after 32 days the receiver started having audio problems to the front left and right channels. After calling Pioneer and having them tell me to take it to a local place to get fixed under warranty, I got it back two weeks later and it was still broke.
Summary: Well believe it or not I bought this product last year to replace a pioneer Dolby pro-logic that I had since 1995, so you could imagine the difference in sound quality. Believe it or not but during installation I spent an additional $100 for nothing because i couldn't get any output from my unit...
Summary: This receiver is complicated and it will take me a while to figure it out. I am very satisfied with it. I bought it for the Super Bowl and was very impressed with the sound qaulity that it produced. This was an upgrade to my previous receiver.
Summary: You get what you paid for is what comes to mind with this unit so I take full responsibility for my purchase. Sound, looks, ease of use on this unit are all very nice but there is an issue regarding the HDMI connection and it's not about the video-only pass-thru but rather the HDMI "handshake".
Summary: Overall, this is a great unit. I did a lot of research, and I was really disappointed that (at the time of purchase) there weren't many units that could just take an HDMI signal (video and audio) and work with all the audio channels.
