Summary: Pros: Sophisticated and user-friendly; Ample power output; Nice setup tools; HDMI switch; And for me personally, I needed the 7.1 preouts for my wireless rear speakers (which disqualified quite a few competing products).
Summary: I purchased this receiver to shift an also great Harmon Kardon out of my dedicated home theater room. I decided to get the 1016 over the 816 because of the overall better build quality and the HDMI.
Summary: Really a top notch product. I don't need to go into great detail here. It totally meets and exceeds expectations. Particularly, the auto calibration feature is very accurate, and blows the competition out of the water (which is why I settled on this unit).
Great Receiver. Ignore first reviewer's rating on the shipping.

Summary: Awesome receiver, lots of inputs. Simple and good autoconfiguration. It is able to convert all inputs to component. Don't use the HDMI but its there. I wish it had more than 3 S/PDIF ports but I'm an overly optical kinda person. Cheap receiver with all the features of higher priced ones.
Summary: low price for a lot of great features: A great sounding reciever with easy auto sound calibration. I also like the 2 passthru HDMI port, basically giving me an extra HDMI port and my TV can do the upconverting. Can't go wrong with this purchase.
Summary: This is one of the best receivers for the money. It's so easy to use and has all the features one is looking for in a 7.1 receiver. All the hook-ups are in back and all you need to do is follow the instructions and play. It even adjusts the speaker volumes by itself with the speaker test mode.
Summary: I just replaced my 7year old DENON unit with this PIONEER and WOW great value. The options you get for the price are unbeatable..I am sold on the PIONEER brand. I was satisfied with my denon unit but did not want to spend another $1,000.00 and with this PIONEER it sounds just as good if not better...
Summary: Awesome receiver. Own the 1015, and this product is just as good, plus has the pass through HDMI connections. Used with a Pioneer 60" Plasma TV. Running Polk 5.1 surround speakers. The mcacc (I think that's it?) is priceless for calibrating the speakers.
Summary: Great sound quality. I bought this in early 2007. I have it setup with some JBL speakers for a 7.1 surround sound and the sound quality is really good. After using it for a while it still fools me sometimes. If the door bell rings in a movie I still find myself turning to check my front door.
