Summary: Well worth the time it took to get this receiver setup. I wouldn't call it PnP as you do have to do some thinking to get it to work with what you want to plug in to it. I've had it about 8 month now and do enjoy it. The hardest thing is remembering what you got (CD DVD Cable box exc.) plugged into which button. Then the remote is a maze of buttons to remember what they are doing.
Summary: Overall, this is a great receiver. But it has been very frustrating dealing with the limitations of the connections, primarily that HDMI is for pass-through of video signal ONLY. Don't get your hopes up about having just one HDMI cable to connect your various devices to/from this machine...You still need to make separate connections for audio; the HDMI connections on this unit are for video signal pass-through only.
Summary: Overall a good system so far, however the instructions are not very clear and can be confusing (even for an engineer). The design of the speaker wire connections on the back of the receiver are a nightmare for bare wire speaker cables. You practically have to stand on your head to get a secure connection.
Summary: I was trying to stay away from home theatre receivers but as things turned out I had to have one for Blu-Ray.For the money this is the best.I have no regrets about buying it.THX rated for under $500.00.What else can I say.Well it has 2 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. This is great since my tv has only one HDMI input. It also has 2 fibre optic inputs and one fibre optic output. This is good news for my CD recorder and my PS3.Again for the money one cannot go wrong.
Summary: After tinkering with the Pioneer VSX-1016TXV-K for 2.5 weeks, I have to say I am impressed. If you want a well rounded receiver without having to spend an arm and a leg, this is probably the best bet. Rated as an 8.4 average user rating at CNet, this will definitely set and meet your audio needs.
Summary: This product was purchased to complete a High Definition implementation. I upgraded the DVD player, TV service and TV at the same time. I thought the HDMI interface was to provide both Video and Audio, it appears that I was mistaken. There were other products I didn't purchase because they claimed only HDMI passthrough functionality. It wasn't until I read the owners manual that I found out that this is also true for the 2 HDMI ports on this receiver.
Summary: I have only had this for 4 weeks, so I have not tried out all of the possible combinations, but so far it meets all of my expectations and it lives up to the other reviews that I read on it before purchasing. This is my first true A/V receiver; I had an older Onkyo Amplifier that provided good service over 15 years. I also upgraded my speakers from 2 positions to 5 with front L/R, rear L/R and a center speaker.
Summary: Nice and powerful receiver. I got also a pair of NS 777 and they are just match each other in terms of quality of the sound. Some reported inconveniences in HDMI connections, but at the end you just need to be a little bit more creative to overcome these inconveniences and you would be rewarded with great sound for the money. Recommend.
