Pioneer VSX-1014tx audio and features are superbly engineered.

rad1calcraftsman, Ebay
20 September 2013
  • Summary: Pioneer VSX-1014tx is a 35 lbs. 110 watt p/channel 7.1 THX surround sound receiver. 110 watts on each of the 7 channel discrete, not shared. I use 2 subs with one out using a Y adapter. I use to bad mouth this receiver because of the auto (MCACC) surround sound set up using a mic. included. The results always degrade the speakers frequency capabilities. I only use it as a basis to set up the EQ custom 1/2 adjust.

Nice pioneer for cheap.

nuni9801, Ebay
18 August 2010
  • Summary: Nice Pioneer receiver. Very heavy. Feels like it's well quality built. Bought it, because I wanted a nice 7.1 surround sound receiver, but did not want to pay 4 or 5 hundred dollars on one.

Great Sounding A/V Receiver

kprawlisbidding, Ebay
12 March 2009
  • Summary: I have been extremely pleased with the sound, functionality and features of the Pioneer VSX 1014TX-K 7.1 channel receiver. I have it hooked up to a Bose Accoustimaster 5.1 speaker system with a TV, DVD/VCR combo, TiVo, Pioneer 6 Cassette Tape Deck and Pioneer CD player. It makes my living room sound really big. I love it.

Awsumb Receiver Amp

Ron B "reb52", Amazon
24 September 2005
  • Summary: I dumped a kenwood 2 years old for this and it was worth every penny. This receiver is awsumb... the auto MACC system works perfect. Each of the 7 channel is acoustically matched to your room and it sounds it. It has 4 digital inputs (2 coax, 2 optical) in addition to the normal compliment of analog inputs. It remembers the settings for any given input.

Best bang for the buck, hands down

Eduarrdo Nietzsche, Amazon
6 February 2005
  • Summary: I kicked myself for not getting this one, it came out just after I had purchased a Marantz 5400 which I'm still quite happy with, but this Pioneer is really a whole other class. If you read a lot of audio forums online such as hometheaterforum dot com and ecoustics dot com, you'll find tons of buzz about this model, because it's basically identical to some of Pioneer's Elite super-premium line that normally go much closer to a thousand dollars---the same DACs, build,...

A perfect receiver

G. ollivier, Amazon
19 January 2005
  • Summary: Very handy, the auto calibration makes its setup a breeze. you can easily change your room layout without having to spend hours optimizing the output to speakers. Mixed with Fluance speakers, the sound is just great, particularly on the seven channel mode. THX included. A great deal.

Great Receiver

Richard M. Commins, Amazon
8 January 2005
  • Summary: I don't know why they call it a receiver. It is the central hub of a home theater system. The FM and AM sections are almost useless, with all the digital music from dish network. This is the best receiver that I have ever owned. THX certified and all the bells and whistles that you can imagine. This receiver is better than the sony STR-DE997 and is a real bargin.
