Summary: While I haven't had the opportunity to explore the HDMI options for this receiver, I do find its surround sound system to be easy to set up, slick to adjust and well-grounded in the real world. Good sources sound great, and mediocre ones (TV programming) sound good. Switching and recording are intuitive and easy. The only out-of-the-box treatment is the second zone setup, which ought to be easier and more direct.
Summary: I bought this bad boy a couple of years ago and im still happy with this receiver! Im getting everything I need out of this awesome machine. ...................SUPER IMPORTANT................... For the first time I plugged in the microphone that comes with the receiver. You press start and the receiver runs through the calibration process. I never new my system could sound so good.
Summary: Pioneer Elite VSX-01TXH - AV receiver - 7.1 channel I must start off by saying that Pioneer rules; I've tried other receivers such as the Denon 1909 Harmon Kardon 146 and this receiver by far is better sounding. My wife isn't into the whole this receiver that receiver thing, but she is now a pioneer fan. This bad boy does everything:controls ipods, supports all the latest surround sounds and has audio through the HDMI connections(the Harmon doesn't video only).
Summary: With a stereo receiver, you can't go cheap. You'll find that out right off the bat after upgrading to a piece of quality equipment. I consider the Pioneer VSX-01TXH a piece of quality equipment. My dad's old Pioneer receivers power source eventually failed after like 25 years. So to replace it I bought a Sony. Well the first Sony broke after six months, so I bought a more expensive Sony with DTS capabilities.
Fully featured and great Pioneer quality and value

Summary: I replaced a Yamaha unit that was just a few years old with this receiver after purchasing a large Pioneer plasma display. My wife is constantly frustrated with audio-video equipment control and after reading about the synergy between Pioneer components I decided to muster up some faith, sell all of my non-Pioneer components (everything but the plasma I'd just purchased) and hope for the best. I have not been completely disappointed, nor completely wowed.
Summary: This unit performs extremely well in my theatre. It was easy to set up and has plenty of power to blow the walls out in my room. Video through the unit is seamless when using my Samsung Blue Ray player or the hdmi output from my cable box going into my 63" Samsung plasma. When compared to other units I considered, the value for the power and flexibility was the reason I purchased this unit. It does just as much or more than any other unit in this price range.
Summary: The Pioneer Elite VSX01TXH receiver absolutely brought my surround system to life. Easy to set up. Your speakers will never sound better. Clear, crisp sound at any volume. HDMI is the only way to go. A great receiver for the money.
Summary: I got my vs01 yesterday, ordered from this very page. Pros: *Reasonably fast shipping considering it went coast to coast.(Brooklyn to Pasadena in a week) *Great sounding receiver, does everything a modern home theater receiver should do. 7 powered channels, decodes all the HD sound formats, etc. *Lightweight. *Runs cool. *Although unit feels cheap, it is actually very rugged and well-made. Cons: *Price. You can find this receiver for $100 less on other sites.
