Summary: I have had mine for about a year. I had to go on assignment which caused me to pack up the system in storage. For about six months, I never felt that I got a bad deal when I bought this system. It was not easy to setup, but if you can read and if you have had other 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 speaker setup before, then you'll have no problem in setting this one up. I currently have a 6.1 BOSE speaker setup.
Summary: Just purchased this receiver. Not good at all. Read reviews and most were positive so decided to get it on a huge discount. More than what I needed for now. Hdmi issues out of the box! Spent almost three hours to configure and get hdmi right! You need to take time to configure, understand that. No output and also having issues with standby mode and throughputs for hdmi pass through. Just a bad unit. Returning tomorrow. Too many issues to keep.
Summary: Never make the mistake of buying the SC57 or other of the newer Pioneer AV receivers. You may get lucky and while it operates may be pleased, BUT Pioneer has issues with its HDMI boards and they do not back their products. Mine operated fine for 7 months, then boom it goes out. NO POWER SURGES, clear blue sky outside. Brought it to authorized repair and Pioneer basically held this guys feet over the fire to say it was severe lightning strike.
Not a Bad A/V Receiver... Better ones available in it's price range.

Summary: The cons listed might be cons that most A/V recievers have in this price range. However, the primary difference is lack of Sub EQ, something Audyssey (XT32) equipt receivers have in spades. In hindsignt I would have purchased the Denon 4311CI which has all of the features of the Pioneer with addition to Bass Management.
Pros: Ample Power, Killer Android App
Cons: Cannot watch HDMI in seperate Zones (Matrix Switching), Lack of SubEQ
Summary: This in rebuttal to the 2 star review that said online sales of pioneer equipment has no warranty if he did a little research on the Pioneer site he would have seen the Amazon along with many other online retailers are authorize sellers.
Summary: Unbeleivable! The SC 57 is fantastic.Tremendous power, excellent features, simply a joy every time I power it up. Airplay & icontrol app are really cool. The D3 amps sound great! Have owned Pioneer in the past & was looking @ Denon 4311c & Marantz AV 7005. So many choices in the $1400 plus catagory makes it difficult to decide. Sure glad I went with the SC 57. A 5 star WOW!!!!
Summary: This unit is replacing my old Sony STR-DA5300ES which did not have 3D pass-thru. Very inpressive sound and options, bye bye Sony, who no longer sell ES products direct to the end user.I have B&W Nautilus 804 speakers with HTM-1 center speaker and wanted a receiver that would do them justice. They have never sounded so good and with the 9.1 capability I was able to Bi-amp my 7.1 system.
Summary: Hi,, I've been using the Denon 3808CI with 4 x B&W 805i and CDM-C for a few years,, with the upgrade to Pioneer SC-57, the sound quality improved significantly... just right after the receiver swap ! The Pioneer sound calibration is bit different than the Denon, but I'll said it's better than my 3808... I have heard the Denon 4312 at my friends place with similar setup,,, I'll said SC-57 is Better.. The picture quality improved too.... even my wife aware that..
