Summary: Just bought this receiver(SC 37-Year 2011) to replace my previous Elite VSX 72(Year 2004). Have to say I am very pleased with pick up in audio detail and punch. Both are great receivers but the SC 37 sounds cleaner and crisper. I am testing with my in wall units(Polk MC 85s) as well as my towers(Infinity P360s- that my wife made me resign to basement :-( ) So far so good and worth the dollars I paid, $800 at Best Buy as an open box.
Summary: I had reservations about upgrading to a better receiver,my old Pioneer sounded great. This receiver improved the sound of my phono,no more buzz from external pre amps, and the 32bit up conversion feature made my blue ray discs sound better too. I was apprehensive about buying at a huge discount, too good to be true fears, but Gadget Gal delivered everything as promised in mint condition. I have heard some great sound systems before and always wanted one.
Summary: Purchased the unit 6 months ago and have been very well pleased. Unit is good looking with a shiny cold black faceplate. Use it to power a 5.1 Cerwin Vega surround system. Used the extra 2 channels to Bi-Amp my front XL215 speakers. This is the loudest cleanest biggest baddest system ever for $3K. Also has great seperation and can play soft passages skillfully. My 18 year old daughter told her friend "The New Reciever is a Beast"! High Praise indeed.

Summary: Awesome!! I read reviews on all types of recievers and did what others did and just picked this one. I am happy I did. It fits well with my current system;(HDMI)Sharp Aquos 37 inch HD TV, (RCA)Sony record player, (RCA) WII, (HDMI) Direct TV, (HDMI) Samsung DVD/VHS player, (HDMI) Phillips DVD Player, IPOD. Everthing is going INTO the reciever and out to the TV and stereo speakers BOSE M2.
Summary: The Elite series from Pioneer has developed a reputation for providing high quality at an affordable price. This is the third Elite receiver I have owned, and it definitely lives up to what it should be. Don't worry, I got the second one to move from 5.1 to 7.1, and I just got this one because the second one got zapped in an electrical storm. (I now have an APC J15 UPS protecting my equipment.
Summary: Great receiver, has all of the latest features. Pioneer's MCACC Auto setup works well. RC mode is a big plus, particularly if receiver is not line of sight. Runs much cooler than my previous preamp-amplifier combination and has more power. So efficient that it will actually put out very close to the two channel rated power into five channels with less than 0.1% distortion.
