DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO GET A 20 PIN MDR CABLE??? BECAUSE OTHERWISE THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS JUST PLAIN TRASH !!!!!
Summary: I have owned one of these for a couple of years now. I was new to all the terminology, so I was fooled by the marketing on the box. The box says DLNA certified, but there is no App or other way to use that feature. The remote is incredibly complicated and I find it difficult to use. But the last straw for me was when I found out that all the sound signal is not amplified.
Summary: Yep ... I bought this at Crawford's Superstore, only to find out 23 months later that's it's not covered by anyone's warranty. First guess repair is $600 for the amp. While kicking myself for being taken, I take some comfort in knowing I will never buy anything else from that vendor, and Pioneer won't be selling me anything else from anywhere. If it was possible to select zero stars, that would have been my choice.
Summary: It is now 1 year and 5 months since I purchased the Pioneer SC-37 and the unit has stopped working. Upon calling Pioneer, I was told that since the unit was purchased online, and not in an "authorized" store, there is no warranty. This is unbelievably bad customer service; particularly for a $1,300 purchase that breaks after less than 18 months' service. I rate this product, and more particularly Pioneer electronics, Zero Stars.
Summary: Good: The good news is that the reciever does its job wonderfully when working... Bad: The blue blinking light of death. I purchased this reciever July 7,2011 from Big Value INC after my onkyo srtx876 hdmi board went out and they wanted way too much to fix it (one month out of warranty). For the past year it has been great then I got the blue light of death. I went to Pioneers website and looked for authorized repair shops since it has a "2 year warranty".
Worked Fine for 15 months, then ICE amp failed and Pioneer Refused to Honor 2 year Warrantee; Big Value is unresponsive
29 November 2012
Summary: So I was happy with the unit while it worked. Before purchasing it from Big Value, I carefully read its statement "Big Value Inc prides itself in selling all Brand New, USA merchandise with Full USA Manufacturer Warranty". Don't believe it. Unit has now failed and will cost ~$350 to fix. Although it is within the 2 year stated warrantee period, the manufacturer is refusing to honor the warranty.
Summary: Unit went out after 1 year of service. Repair cost estimated at 670 dollars. Pioneer refused to cover it because it was purchased on Amazon. These receivers seem like dinosaurs in this age of miniaturization. Learned a hard lesson, but will not buy another Pioneer product ever again!
Summary: Just bought this receiver(SC 37-Year 2011) to replace my previous Elite VSX 72(Year 2004). Have to say I am very pleased with pick up in audio detail and punch. Both are great receivers but the SC 37 sounds cleaner and crisper. I am testing with my in wall units(Polk MC 85s) as well as my towers(Infinity P360s- that my wife made me resign to basement :-( ) So far so good and worth the dollars I paid, $800 at Best Buy as an open box.
Summary: I had reservations about upgrading to a better receiver,my old Pioneer sounded great. This receiver improved the sound of my phono,no more buzz from external pre amps, and the 32bit up conversion feature made my blue ray discs sound better too. I was apprehensive about buying at a huge discount, too good to be true fears, but Gadget Gal delivered everything as promised in mint condition. I have heard some great sound systems before and always wanted one.
