Summary: I bought this from Magnolia during year end stock clearance. I was upgrading from Yamaha Aventage 820 just because I got this one for cheap. My initial reaction to this receiver was mixed. PROS - THis receiver carries lots of power and you would need good set of speakers and sub to get the most out this best, - Flexibility. You can setup anything from 5.1 to 11.2 depending on how many speakers you've.
Don't worry, it works flawlessly and sounds sweet, buy one

Summary: Warranty lamentations ... I got the 4-yr square trade warranty, no worries. Waiting for the right price ... right now there are 14 remaining from seller X at 1999, but I ordered the last one available from the previous seller at 1599. So timing is everything with regards to price. Review ...
Summary: I bought the SC-68 a couple months ago from Magnolia since they are an 'authorized' dealer and the warranty remains valid from Pioneer. The system overall is great for the sound with movies but is a bit 'tech-y' to operate. So those who like simple systems will likely find the unit has too many options. I'm running it in a 9.1 configuration, and I must say that for movies the surround sound is better than any movie theater I've ever been to.
Summary: I purchased my SC-68 from my local brick and mortar store, which are audiophile professionals. Although the purchase wasn't from Amazon, the decision to buy Pioneer over the Denon 4520ci was due to the reviews on Amazon; thank you! I will first start out by saying that the quality of this receiver is outstanding. I love the Optimum 2 channel and the Neo:X-THX movie sound fields.
Don't expect a warranty from Pioneer when you buy online

Summary: Just a word of caution: the Elite receivers are excellent and I have owned them for years and will be upgrading to another Elite in the future. However, Pioneer no longer authorizes any online dealers - and even units sold from authorized dealers via online venues do not come with a warranty. This means you want to drive directly to the dealer and purchase the item in the brick-and-mortar if you want the insurance of a warranty.
Summary: After just buying a home with a home theatre/media room, I dove into the uncharted waters of audiophilia. I learned alot and the more I learned the more I liked the new Pioneer Elite series. So, I figured I'd move to the front of the class and purchase the SC-68. My speaker setup is 7.1. The Full Auto MCAAC program did an EXCELLENT job of calibrating the speakers and sub. There are many presets the listener can choose from and many, many paramaters to tweak.
Summary: This unit replaces my Onkyo 906 (906's HDMI board burned out which seems to be typical). This Pioneer product meets all of my expectations. Sound is much better than the Onkyo. I'm a big Apple user and the integration with my ipad and iphone are great. The built in Airplay is great for sound (it doesn't do video thru the built in Airplay but I use an Apple TV for that). I liked the ipad set up app too.
Summary: Anxiously waited the day I ordered my SC-68, everything in time...today I receive and a little shipping misunderstanding, TheAUDIO VIDEO SALES GUYS called me in 5 secs after I sent them one email, andI received two emails back to back in seconds? AMAZING. I called back and within seconds it was resolved. YEs just like that, AUDIO VIDOE SALE GUYS keep this service alive.
Summary: My son paired an SC-68 with large Definitive Technology tower speakers as soon as the SC-68 began shipping. We spent most of the first evening wiring things up, not taking the time to take advantage of the auto-calibration MCACC routines that would have automatically set speaker distances and corrected for the shortcomings of his listening room - but there was already an immediate and obvious improvement in sound over his older, but top end, Denon receiver (which I have...
