Summary: it is a hot running piece of equipment, I sit a cooling fan on top and it cools the Onkyo by about 10 degrees, I can now touch the top of the case even on a hot 90-degree day, easy to hook up, manual and remote straight forward, good video for my Toshia 1080 42-inch, surround sound very decent,...
Summary: I bought the TX-SR875 to replace a Denon AVR-5700 which was their top of the line 7-8 years ago. Although CE products are always dropping in price I wasn't sure that this receiver could replace the Denon although it had the Reon chip. I was wrong.
Summary: I've owned this received for about a month now and have been using it every day since then, so I'd like to think I'm qualified enough to post a review of the 875 based on my experience with it.
Summary: Outstanding overall, but if one connects all video components with a single HDMI cable to the TV, then there are no individual adjustment for each source! This is a deficiency that needed to be addressed since each video source needs individual corrections to contrast, tint, etc
Summary: Installation went smooth and once up and running it has worked great. I have my Wii, PS3, IPOD, and Time Warner cable box connected. Receiver does run hot but if you leave space above it will be fine. Overall a great receiver for the price.
Summary: The price and feature set makes this an excellent choice. Yes, it runs hot but not near as hot as others have experienced. I have it in a cabinet with an open front and back but no more than an 1.5 inches of clearance on the sides and top.
Summary: I have used my TX-SR875 for about seven months and have been very happy with the performance. I was concerned about the heat and have been using an external fan to create some additional cooling. However, the front panel LED display has failed completely with no warning.
Summary: Excellent unit...excellent sound reproduction. The unit has a 1080p upconversion for your Plasma TV. I deem it a great buy, and very feature rich. I am no amplifier geek, but I can tell you that I have connected a lot of equipment to this unit and it functions very well.
Summary: Great Receiver Until The 25 Cent Display Diode Blows-Then You Must Locate a Qualified Onkyo Repair Electronics Shop That Will Replace It With an UpGraded Part. I just sent mine out Advanced Audio Service, Inc. in Litchfield, Ct. all the way from Alaska. That was [...
