Summary: just received my onkyo tx sr806 and I purchased the onkyo sks-ht870 speaker system and they sound awesome together so far after playing it for a few hours, im extremely satisfied. I will leave feed back in a few months, its too early.
Summary: This is the best electronic equipment I have bought ! Though I use this mainly for music and less of movies and only use the front 3 channels, it still fills up the entire room. I have paired this amp with Martin Logan Motion 4s for front left/right and Motion 6 in the center and JBL 250PBK sub woofer which peaks at 700W. If you are using a setup like mine with just 3 channels, I strongly recommend using bi-amp speaker settings.
Summary: I hope this review can be of help to others. I guess I am a dinosaur, but my first concern with a receiver is the sound - after all, the main function of a receiver is the ability to reproduce the audio. Today, it seems as though a lot of emphasis is placed on video switching and video signal processing. In these areas, I cannot comment on the Onkyo's performance, as I do not use these features.
Summary: Took me a while to figure out how to set my BD player to output Dolby T-HD and DTS HD. But I must say even before that, the sound was great and lots of power while controlled and well behaved. The HD formats have superb clarity, you can heard almost the smallest detail unheard of before in DD and DTS. It is slightly more powerful than my 110W Yamaha 6.1 amp before, upscaling is very good and the picture looks very good on my 120Hz tv.
Summary: wow what a rec, I love this rec, excellent sound great pic quality, it took me little while to setup . After I adjust the sub vol and surround volume it was fantastic sound , specialy thxultra, Inthe night time watching movie, sound was great. I loveeeeeeee this rec.
Summary: I purchased this Onkyo TX-SR806 7.1 receiver in conjunction with the Onkyo SKSHT750 7.1 speaker system and let me tell you it sounds amazing. Words cannot describe how blown away how it sounds. Where do I start? The receiver is a breeze to just plug and play if that's what you're looking to do. I plugged in my speakers and ran the cables to my TV and DVD player just to test it out. I first of course ran the Audyssey setup, which was also a breeze.
Summary: I recently purchased a new Samsung LN55B650 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color from Amazon.com to replace the old tube television set in our family room, which only supported 720p. When I replaced the TV I also wanted a new receiver that would support two zones and offer HDMI inputs/outputs. I previously had a Denon receiver, which was lacking enough inputs, so I had to purchase a separate switch for the gaming consoles.
Summary: I added this receiver to my home system at the same time that I added the LG BD390 Blu-Ray Player. The combined result was an absolute WOW! It also passed the wife test for you married men out there. The hookup was similar to other Onkyo hookups. In this case I used the HDMI inputs for my Directv DVR, my HD-DVD player and the new Blu-Ray player.
