1st Class - In Every Way

JCTucson "jctucson", Amazon
17 February 2010
  • Summary: It worked right out of the box, beautiful picture and great sound. I was replacing an older Marantz that was w/o HDMI video, and this sounds every bit as good. Hookup was a breeze, and now I'll install 3 additional pairs of speakers (2 front & 1 side) to go from 5.1 and fully utilize the 7.2...

I think it is very important that I spend a moment describing my theater room's dimensions and speaker set up in order that you, the reader, determine whether my experience...

Amazing sound...

JohnW, Amazon
9 January 2010
  • Summary: Amazing sound with more than plenty features. This is the best receiver for the money. So many reviewers had reviewed its sound/features. I only added two points to help you to make a decision, - On A/V forum, there are some comments about the extra heat this receiver makes.

Excellent High Value Receiver

Kevin B., Amazon
3 January 2010
  • Summary: I compared the Onkyo TX-SR707 to a Marantz, a Denon, and the Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K. I didn't want to invest in a high-end receiver that cost thousands of dollars since technology changes so fast (which is the reason I am replacing my previous receiver - apparently bluray no longer requires both Dolby...

My 2nd Onkyo receiver - steller once again!

Amazon Customer, Amazon
19 December 2009
  • Summary: I bought a TX-SR601 back in 2002 that has given me incredible service for many years. Decided to upgrade to the SR-707 and give the 601 to my 17 year old son (lucky boy!) I wanted more power, TrueHD and better DACs. Once again I am blown away by the quality of this unit.

Brian Arsenault "yelowsnw2", Amazon
10 December 2009
  • Summary: I purchased this receiver on Black Friday through Amazon.com. It was delayed until late December / early January but thanks to the magic of Amazon, it somehow shipped early. Not only that, it also arrived 3 days before it was scheduled to be delivered on the tracking number.

A worthy successor to my old Carver

adx442, Amazon
8 December 2009
  • Summary: My old Carver HTR-880 had been with me for about 14 years at this point, and was beginning to show its age, being an analog receiver with only the most basic of hookups. The channels were beginning to become a little noisy, and I finally, grudgingly, looked to replace it.

Onkyo TX-SR707 vs TX-SR507 which I replaced.

Average Joe, Amazon
8 November 2009
  • Summary: I originally purchased the Onkyo TX-SR507 and was unhappy with it.. I thought it would be the right model because I only wanted 5.1 support and that model also had the universal port for the Onkyo iPod dock.
