  • Summary: I purchased the Onkyo TX SR605 7.1 channel receiver to replace the Onkyo TX SR504 that i still have to sell if someone want's for a starter receiver, in excellent shape. The Onkyo 605 is a great receiver that i love with HDMI switching for my Visio 42" TV, Blue ray DVD player, cable box and high-end speakers X 7 plus powered sub. Fantastic sound unsurpassed by others. Highly recommend it to any one who ,when hooked up right is the BEST!!

onkyo tx sr605 is great enough to want another

cillbat2, Ebay

  • Summary: i've had one in the liv rm for over a year and i love it. Before i could only use the same less-than-great video off the directv box because i had to match it coming out of the receiver, so i was hindered. With this baby (and have since upgraded to HD DirecTv in that rm) it doesn't matter, plug whatever into the receiver, hdmi and optical out to tv & speakers. Fabulous sound - still love the sound of helicopters and such in the surround.

  • Summary: This is a great receiver no problems and the power is just rediculously strong. I have no complaints and would suggest this to anyone. The 7.1 is the best and Onkyo has out done themselves with this one.

All the receiver I need!

red302gt, Ebay
30 December 2008
  • Summary: I am glad I bought this model. I like the fact that I can hook up everything with HDMI cables. I use a Logitech Advance One remote, a 56" Samsung HDTV ans a Panasonic DVD and now I don't have an issue switching from one input source to another. The Samsung wouldn't switch right back when going from DVD to TV, now it does since everything runs through the receiver. I bought the silver model to go with my cable box and DVD, not many companys offer this color.

Great home theater receiver- HDMI 1.3 switching for $500!

Jeff Odell, Amazon
27 December 2008
  • Summary: I was in the market for a new receiver that would handle HDMI switching duties for my LG BH-100 BluRay / HD-DVD player and Tivo Series 3. The receiver needed to support the new Dolby Digital and DTS high bit rate codecs to fully take advantage of the features of the BH-100. I was very pleasantly surprised to find everyting I was looking for in the Onkyo TX-SR605S for $500.
