Great receiver for the money.

  • Summary: So far it works very well. Better than my newer Demon unit that was sent back for repair. The sound is just as good as the Demon unit with better features available. The only down side I have experienced is that any change of listening modes is not displayed on my TV.

  • Summary: Overall the reciever work well. I upgraded from a 25 year old reciever so I would have the hdmi connections, ect. I also wanted to have a second zone to listen to music in, this unit has that feature, so we can still listen to the stereo in the sun room without needing anothe full system.

Good receiver

  • Summary: I've had this receiver for a couple of years now and it's worked very well. I knew about its limitations prior to purchasing so they don't bother me (e.g. only 2 HDMI inputs). Sound quality is quite good with plenty of volume to fill my 20x20 theater room. My only complaint is that the IR remote receiver is extremely weak. I often work-out well off to the side of my AV equipment which means my remote is sending at a pretty extreme angle.

  • Summary: I purchased the Onkyo TX SR605 7.1 channel receiver to replace the Onkyo TX SR504 that i still have to sell if someone want's for a starter receiver, in excellent shape. The Onkyo 605 is a great receiver that i love with HDMI switching for my Visio 42" TV, Blue ray DVD player, cable box and high-end speakers X 7 plus powered sub. Fantastic sound unsurpassed by others. Highly recommend it to any one who ,when hooked up right is the BEST!!

Onkyo TX SR605 7.1 channel Receiver

  • Summary: Plenty of inputs, except for phono. If you have a conventional turntable, you will need a pre-amp. Involved set-up, but not diffficult. Good sound. I am using the A/V receiver with a blu-ray player, cd player and tape deck. The unit is set-up for 7.1 surround sound, but I have set it up as a 6.1 system due to my room configuration. Good remote.

onkyo tx sr605 is great enough to want another

  • Summary: i've had one in the liv rm for over a year and i love it. Before i could only use the same less-than-great video off the directv box because i had to match it coming out of the receiver, so i was hindered. With this baby (and have since upgraded to HD DirecTv in that rm) it doesn't matter, plug whatever into the receiver, hdmi and optical out to tv & speakers. Fabulous sound - still love the sound of helicopters and such in the surround.

THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Summary: This is a great receiver no problems and the power is just rediculously strong. I have no complaints and would suggest this to anyone. The 7.1 is the best and Onkyo has out done themselves with this one.
