Summary: I hooked up the new Onkyo in about an hour and it sounded great! The next day it wouldn't work for anything hooked up through the HDMI input/output. I called Onkyo service and was greeted by an unhappy tecnician (well it was a Sunday)who told me to reset the Receiver. I asked how and he told me it's in the manual on page "x". I asked that he tell me to expedite the process and he reluctantly did and it worked. During the next 24 hours it needed resetting 4 times.
Already out for repair longer than I have owned it. Poor Customer Service

Summary: Very disappointed in my first experience with an Onkyo product. Setup was easy and everything seemed fine but then just after one month HDMI input #1 fails to work. I called tech support and their attitude is horrible. They act as if you are disturbing them. They also talk to you in a condescending manner. I was instructed to send the receiver in to DTR Technologies. I was not given any other instructions like their return process or required documentation..
Summary: I have had two onkyos before this and they were fine. This one however, aims high for a low budget and obviously does not have good enough quality components to do the job. I am exchanging the one I bought and am getting another one hopefully soon. It does come with stickers to label your cables, but that does not make up for horrible HDMI video pass through. I don't understand how companies can get away with inefficient and defective items.
More time in repair than in use !! Poor Customer Support.

Summary: My wife purchased this for me for my B'Day. Her review is on here as well. The receiver stopped working about 1 month and 1 week in to use. Being past 30 days I could not count on Amazons return. Onkyo USA tech support was contacted. Very rude to say the least. The phone is answered as if its someones home and they just rolled over in the bed to take the call. I had to ask if it was the right number.
Summary: HDMI switching does not work properly - picture changes color, flashes. Took it in several times to the shop and they have given up on it. No longer use the HDMI switching, I use it in a room with a tv that has 4 HDMI inputs so it isn't necessary. Was warned in some of the reviews that this was an issue but assumed that would be something easy to fix. Bad news, stay away from this one.
Summary: I purchased this unit in June of 2010 and noticed right away that it ran hotter than most receivers, but it seemed to perform well. Less than a year later, this unit no longer picks up the signal from the HDMI sources and even after unplugging and resetting the unit several times, no sound comes through any of the audio inputs ( I used the component inputs to get the picture from the dvd player to the Epson Projector, but the audio inputs still did not work).
Summary: I purchased this unit for a new home theater we were putting in our basement. I took a chance with it because I had an Onkyo receiver in the past and it worked flawlessly. I hooked this unit up and when I started playing a movie, the audio would cut out ever 3-5 minutes for 10-seconds or so. Also, every time I would try cranking it up, it would shut itself off and I wouldn't be able to turn it back on for about a minute.
Summary: I bought this after a decent amount of research, but with A/V receivers, there are always a slew of good and bad reviews with each one. Well, here is one more bad review for Onkyo. I installed the whole system, and then got the thing hooked up to my tv. I turned on the receiver to do the sound calibration using the microphone that came supplied, and the video kept shooting static across about 1/3 of the screen.
Summary: I read the reviews before i purchased and chalked up the bad reviews to hopefully a bad shipment. I had faith as i owned an Onkyo for 10yrs that worked flawlessly. I wasn't that lucky with this one ... 2hrs into using it the picture began to flash then eventually went black. I shut the unit off powered it back up everything was fine until the next day when it started to do it all over again.

Summary: Purchased this unit to complement our home theater projector. I was mostly looking for HDMI switching and good sound quality. The upconverting from analog etc was not important to me so this fit the bill. Received the receiver quickly as alway from amazon. When I went to hook the Tivo HD up to it, it would not pass through the video and audio.
