Best Value, Solid Product. Audi World says: I was originally shopping for a sub-$1k receiver that had 7.1 PCM/True-HD/DTS master capabilties with HDMI switching but after finding out the great pre-order pricing for this new Onkyo, I couldn't turn it down. Read more

I have been using, and living with, this great receiver for about a year... It exceeds my expectations in every category except,"Ease of Use". The reason? It's has EVERYTHING on it, and to familiarize yourself with it is a chore, but, once you do... Watch Out... The delay problem others talk about here is just a sync adjustment away from being solved. The procedure is explained very well in the manual... Anyway, way too much for me to get into here. Read more

This is the best receiver I've owned. It has great power and real clean sound. The only thing I don't like is that when you stream music through a media server it won't work through a Windows Vista computer. You must have XP or earlier. Also there is no internal fan so this receiver will get pretty hot. I bought a small fan that I put on top of it and it works great. You can not put this in a closed cabinet while on. It will get so hot it will probably start a fire. Read more

If I had more time, I would expound on the virtues of this unit, right now, I gotta go ... so, whan I have more time I'll come back and edit this review. Suffice it to say, if you get one of these, you won't be sorry...It's just an outstanding unit and I couldn't be more impressed or pleased. I am so happy with it, and now I am enjoying the very best audio and video I have ever expierienced even in a theater...!!! Read more

    • There is only one problem... It realy gets HOT! when you use it at theater level. I solved the problem by mounting it on a wire rack and now all good...

System is setup currently with Mirage Omnisat speakers 5.1. Sound is amazing right now, would like to add two more in future to test out 7.1 system. Very clean sound right now, have not tested networking music to receiver yet. The Audyssey EQ system is very easy to use, while the remote is nice too, will probably replace in the future with a different universal one. Reon upconversion is great on most sources, never really got to compare this chip vs. Read more

The 905 receiver is detected on my local network and I can get internet radio on the receiver but no server is detected on the computer. The windows fire wall has been shut down without any effect.
