  1. Onkyo TX-NR905 AV Receiver

Sit down and do the math, and it becomes obvious why the TX-NR905 with its accompanying feature set at its asking price is an outstanding value. Onkyo has provided an extremely sophisticated audio/video component with numerous advanced processing features. It is extremely versatile and has abundant power to be the foundation piece of a truly high-end home theater and audio system. Although not without its shortcomings, and complex by nature of its flexibility, Onkyo... Read more

I bought this to use with Sky HD, Playstation 3,Denon 11920 DVD player and partnered with KEF speakers it sounds superb on Bluray or DVD. However, I have had the HDMI pcb replaced within 4 months of purchase and its just happened again! I love how it sounds through my floorstanding KEFs it makes movies so immersive. Wish the Onkyo was as reliable as it is heavy!! Read more

I bought this to replace an older version (onkyo tx-ds494) of a 5.1 system. and I have to say that the sound quality was not all that much better. If you are looking for bells and whistles that's fine but if you just want great sound.....stick with a model with a smaller price tag....onkyo makes a great sound no matter what model you choose. p.s. I sent this one back and re-connected my old one! Read more

This is the best receiver I've owned. It has great power and real clean sound. The only thing I don't like is that when you stream music through a media server it won't work through a Windows Vista computer. You must have XP or earlier. Also there is no internal fan so this receiver will get pretty hot. I bought a small fan that I put on top of it and it works great. You can not put this in a closed cabinet while on. It will get so hot it will probably start a fire. It... Read more

Works great running both 5.1 in the theater, and whole house audio (zone 2). Receiver offers the most for the money. Upconversion of all inputs to HDMI simplifies connections. Easy setup of Windows media server. Media Server control & display is too basic, but sufficient. Read more

TV-Sony KDS-60A2000; DVD-Sony DPVNS75H; PS3 (for Bluray), DirectTV HD DVR HR20.1 in a 16' X 14' room. All connected by HDMI. 7-1 speaker system using Klipsh F3 speakers. This unit replaced a Yamaha HTR 5790 which lacked HDMI connections. The change in sound was spectacular- my wife even commented! If other customers had problems I encounterd none. Would suggest to always turn on the receiver before any other components ax s the unit may not recognize units already... Read more
