Awesome

  • Summary: Got the refurbished 828 as that was 599 and found it to be brand new. I couldn't tell that it was refurbished in any way. Setup is so easy and the onscreen navigation is a huge help. The speaker setup was a breeze. I played Blu Ray through it and it was amazing. All setup in 1 hour - I am sure I can always keep playing with it but I got a lot for the 1 hour I invested in it.

Onkyo TX-NR828

  • Summary: Great service for a Great product. I was amazed at how easy the install and setup was. After building Front high / Lo, and rear 3.5way,the Crossovers came in at 8 ohms. Time for plug and play. tri amped, using the Pre-amp outs for Front And center with no sub. WOW ! It has been a long time since I felt as though I 've gotten what I paid for, this time there is more.
  • Pros: Plenty of power, enough channels for additional High front and rear. Nearly auto configure all those remotes into one . extremely well made ,button layout, Knob W / lite, all well done . If it 's time for you to win GO and GET one.
  • Cons: Look at all those units I have scraped. Those will attribute to my learning curve and will only bolster what does as intended.

Onkyo TX-NR828

  • Summary: So far most things I watch have been crisp and clear. I am having issues with Fox. Specifically watching NFL. The front speaker is extremely low and I cannot find a setting to make it louder . I would imagine there is one, but I have not found it. overall it is an extremely nice Receiver and I am very happy with it. it definitely gives you plenty of bells and whistles. I did turn the audessy off due to it wounding like you were in a tin can while watching movies and TV.
  • Pros: Power, features, plenty of connections, look
  • Cons: remote - could be back lit. it is hard to see in the dark while watching a movie or TV. audessey makes things sound like you are watching things in a tin can.

Excellent!

  • Summary: My previous receivers all have been lower end models so I was chuffed to obtain a higher end receiver to review. When I brought this into the house the first thing I noticed was the weight. The Onkyo TX-NR828 is a very substantial receiver. The listed weight is 33 lbs and I was not able to fit this over the TV as with my previous ones. I next did some research on the internet before writing this review.

Powerful and Loaded with Features

  • Summary: I formerly owned a Sony Bravia home theatre in a box, one of those entry-level deals that major retailers typically have on their shelves. I received my new Onkyo TX-NR828 and decided to upgrade my speakers to a set of Polk Audio TL1 speakers and a Polk Audio powered 10 inch subwoofer to better complement this new receiver.

  • Summary: When I first got this receiver I only had two old floor standing speakers for it and hooked it up like that.It sounded pretty good but I needed new speakers that was for sure.I went ahead and bought a set of klipsch speakers which cost me a small fortune that's for sure. After getting home I spent a good hour and a half rearranging everything to make room for the speakers and connecting everything up.Finally I put in a dvd and turned everything on and slowly turned the...
