This receiver was rarely used and just kind of shorted ...

Diana H., Amazon

  • Summary: This receiver was rarely used and just kind of shorted out. I guess that is probably why it was refurbished in the first place.

I will never buy another Onkyo product. Ever!

Charles C. Hall, Amazon
30 July 2015
  • Summary: This is the third Onkyo that has stopped working in the last three years. I spent almost $1,500 on Three Onkyos and the HDMI switch failed on all three. Onkyo will not return my phone calls or answer my emails. I will never again buy an Onkyo product.

Unreliable Service/Products by Onkyo

P.E., Amazon
9 October 2013
  • Summary: Folks, a friendly advice that will save you money and time. NEVER BUY any ONKYO product. Their service and brand value is almost zero. I bought N709 for my Synergy F30 set and Onkyo has a global HDMI board problem on ALL their A/V receivers (manufactured 2009-2013) leading to global recall!!!!

Nice while it lasted but a refurb...

jgumms, Amazon
9 October 2013
  • Summary: Bought a refurb, bad move. Moving up from an older Onkyo 609 which was fine but less wattage and features. Gave that one away for Christmas and now I am stuck with NO receiver! This was great for 3 weeks of light use and then the display started to go first and finally last Sunday, just in time for...

Make sure you have a local repair facility because you will need it. Look at 2011 808 model reviews Overpriced junk!

Beachdood, Amazon
4 September 2013
  • Summary: Don't waste your money. Go to local bb and purchase new Sony model 840 or 1040 with ext warranty. Onkyo will rip you off and ordering online means shipping hassles & costs. Onks are designed to break after warranty expires. Don't be a victim!
