Summary: Bought this unit in 2011. Few weeks ago, I found the Internet radio was not working and did not pay attention to it. Today I tried to get it up for Thanksgiving and realized that no sound from the receiver. Network & firmware update menu grayed out as well.
Summary: My biggest complaint was if your display out is via the RCA jacks (like to your projector), you can't play any of your HDMI connected components (like your DVD player). My second complaint was that we started experiencing problems with the sound.
Summary: I bought this receiver on December 12, 2010 and the remote control crapped out about a year later. Last week, the entire unit just stopped delivering sound. Upon researching the NR808 on the internet, I found this to be a common problem with the receiver.
Summary: Add yet another to the list of 808s that stopped outputting sound, though I feel lucky that mine lasted 3 years before it went. I called Onkyo Parts & Warranties and they said that I may be eligible for one time out-of-warranty service repair.
3 years old, and suddenly No Sound and No Networking

Summary: Add me to this ever growing list of Onkyo TX-NR808 owners who suddenly have a very heavy brick for an AV Receiver. Apparently, this is a well known issue, by owners as well as the manufacturer.
Summary: I bought this receiver after reading the rave reviews plus it was loaded with features including Thx certified. It replace a 10 year old Denon receiver I had that was working fine but it was time to keep up with the technology changes. It is heavy as hell.
Summary: Almost 3 years to the day (I was luckier than a lot of others who were 2 months over their warranty when...) one night the receiver was working perfectly as it had since I got it 10/2010 the next morning NO AUDIO AT ALL !!!!! So I go through all the steps rechecking connections etc., etc.
Summary: Like everybody else says, same problem.... It went quiet after just under 3 years, after warranty expiry. Can't believe how everybody is having the same issue after about the same amount of time. However, I just contacted Onkyo and they said they would fix it even if it's past warranty.
