Totally Worth It

Rick, Amazon

  • Summary: The bomb. I love this receiver, particularly at the price point. Wifi and bluetooth work wonderfully with my phones and tablets (android). It's awesome. I did a ton of research before purchasing this unit. Suffice it to say, I'm really glad that I went with this one. All of the equipment for the theater is in a separate closet, so being able to use my smartphone to operate everything has made the experience unbeatable. No wires, no cabinets, nothing.

  • Summary: I bought one of these 10 years ago and the upgrade is wonderful. So much easier to connect to my Blu-Ray player , Roku and DirecTv units.
  • Pros: More HDMI
  • Cons: With my old unit I was able to have 3 front speakers and three in the back. With this one It was front, middle and "high".

Onkyo TX-NR727

Budgeteer, Crutchfield
22 June 2014
  • Summary: This unit is marvelously engineered! I began as a hifi nut in 1958 with mono Marantz tube equipment and have never been without at least hifi stereo ever since. This 7 channel receiver sets up the speaker balancing all by itself. Its 4 ohm speaker capability lets me use my vintage AR speakers and that was a necessary factor in selecting it.
  • Pros: This unit is All-Pro
  • Cons: None yet found after a month in use.

I love it

Samuel Mejia, Amazon

  • Summary: This TX-NR727 3D receiver allows me to truly enjoy my home theater. To spare you the bore of the details of my setup, suffice it to say that I have speakers and a projector which I consider excellent. Your A/V equipment setup will be as good as your weakest link. This receiver is anything but weak, that's why I'm so happy with it. One of the most useful features of the Onkyo receivers is the Audissey speaker set-up.
